We have ignition?

Nearly done bitsing together the turbo conversion

Was wondering what you guys do to get spark? I've done some forum searches and get the all-too-often very vauge "and sort out your ignition..." or else "Maybe a MSD setup...."

WHAT DO YOU GUYS RUN? Looking at a B18C myself but all answers appreciated.

Was thinking of just a MSD coil and MSD cap? Or is that insufficinet?

Should be running a IntegraLINK ECU and bigger injectors blah blah.

Stock ignition system with one stage colder plugs Remember about the plugs!!!!

Your standard ingnition will work fine it can easily take double the power you had from the factory. 8)

i agree. stock Honda ignitions are damn good from the factory. plugs a step colder for my B18C are #7s, #8s are somewhat cold and might make your motor run kinda weird. but you dont really have to concentrate on having an ignition. i have a digital Crane Hi-6 box with coil and the only reason i have it is because my friend sold it to me for super cheap.. so that and i figured it couldnt hurt for nitrous.

for turbo or nitrous motors i recommend a #7 plug with a short ground strap. the shorter the ground strap, the closer it is to the head, the cooler its going to run, and youll be less vulnerable to detonation.

yeah pretty much, when it craps out just put some aftermarket stuff on.
I think the factory stuff on the B18 has a habbit of getting a tad "hot" and bothered

just change dem plugs, more so if the motors going to get prolongs cainings (racing etc....)

Re: We have ignition?

stock honda ignition will work fine, but splash out on an external coil, bosch coils make more spark than msd and are cheaper, problem with an internal coil is the amount of heat you end up with inside the dizzy, its only amount of time before other things inside and including the dizzy begin to fail. seems pretty common sense to me to get that un-required heat out of the dizzy. you dont need to buy an msd cap. you can modify your one by putting a stalk into it to take the coil lead, easy as pie and cheap as chips
