Re: gizzmo tuning?

Not sure if anyone does gizmo tuning anymore as gizzmo in Auckland has closed down. But i heard a rumour that mark at tricky tune is able to tune gizzmo chipped ecu's, but im not 100% sure. Probably a good idea to try and contact him if he is not too busy?

Re: gizzmo tuning?

gizzmo is just a chipped ecu

anyone that can chip and tunes ECU's can tune your car for you.

Re: gizzmo tuning?

Email them.. evan usually responds within 24-48hours

and prepare for around the $500 mark

and last time i called triky tune about tuning a chipped honda ecu he said he doesnt have the gear.. yet his website says he tunes them.. but that was when he was still based in E.T ..

yeh easy around the $500 mark to chip and tune.

depends what you need done, turbo, n.a dyno tune and road tune etc.

Re: gizzmo tuning?

speed factor did mine for $440 that was crome and installed,i also had gizzmo as well before i got cromed, it all depends on whats getting done? if its just a straight tune then it would be around that mark if you getting gear installed obviously it willl cost more for labour dyno time same goes for adj cam gears etc,
if your going for a straight tune then don't expect much more over the gizzmo chip, gizzmo runs really rich, where as crome they can rich/lean out where its needed so you may only look at an extra 10-15hp over your gizzmo

Re: gizzmo tuning?

that $440 would have been to dyno and write a new chip. No extra parts cause you already had a chipped ECU.
No road tune either

Re: gizzmo tuning?

hmmm good price.
it all depends on the setup

dyno is $112.50 an hour

they prob already had a map, were bugger all on the dyno and maybe 30 mins on the road tune. for a tidy up of idle etc

good for you tho, cheaper price for the customer

Re: gizzmo tuning?

My tuning was $440 inc @ Speedfactor for a Crome dyno tune. ECU was already socketed with a Crome base tune which made things a bit easier. It really depends on how much they have to alter the original Gizzmo tune...

We (Gizzmo) are based in Timaru in the South Island now, HQ workshop has moved to Melbourne as NZ is only 5% of our turnover now, as for chip tuning see speedfactor or mark at Tricky if he is still about. Other wise we can supply a chip for you.
