Re: N2o NOS Nitrous Oxide REFILS

there isnt a cheaper alternative, they have the market in auckland for it.. and for what NOS is 180 bucks for 2 minutes of "boost" the money just doesnt add up (well thats how long the bottle lasted of continuous use)

having been there done that, well not me but my mate, it just wasnt worth it..

Re: N2o NOS Nitrous Oxide REFILS

i just want sumthn difrnt. thats how it adds up.

in my oppinion a purdge looks alot better then a front mount.

and my standard internals itr was faster then a turbd worked civic..

plus its not being used on the streets. unlike turbos. thats where i save my money.

Re: N2o NOS Nitrous Oxide REFILS

im pretty sure they only have medical grade N2O, and it would be illegal to sell it to you as it is used in hospitals and dentists as laughing gas is it is not for public sale, and im sure automotive N2O has different properties to it than the medical grade anyway so you wouldnt be able to use it. so im sorry it looks like you have to buy it from C&M

Re: N2o NOS Nitrous Oxide REFILS

As far as I know there are two differences between medical and automotive grade N2O. For medical grade N20 there's a certain proportion of oxygen mixed in so the patient doesn't suffocate. I'm unsure whether this is in the same tank or a seperate tank. For automotive N20 they mix in ~100ppm of elemental sulfur and/or sulfur dioxide to prevent recreational use.

Re: N2o NOS Nitrous Oxide REFILS

I too had heard that automotive NOS was different, but a very knowledgeable friend from work told me he had investigated this and found that NOS sold in NZ is just medical grade stuff, and doesn't have any of the sulphur or anything. The medical grade stuff is much cheaper I believe, the only reason its so dear for cars is they can make it that way because there isn't really any competition.
