Location: Wellington | Accord wagon turbo..... Hey guys We have just imported a 1998 Accord wagon to sell & much to my surprise it appears to have a turbo strapped to the motor. I've not taken much notice of this particular model in the past so have couple of questions........first would I be right in saying it has a F23A motor? and is that a SOCH V-tec? How would I tell if it is a Vi or a VTL model? It's not boosting that well....will need to get it tuned properly but what sort of boost should it be running? I would have thought 5 or 6 psi would be the max? Any idea what type of Garrett turbo that is with the markings on it? Do you need a mod like that certified? Here's a couple of pics if anyone is interested ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Cheers KiwiMR2 |

Location: Auckland | I will be a HKS turbo kit running 4-5 psi and there will be a small piggy back fuel controller installed by the ECU as it was a complete bolt on kit for a stock motor to be 100% reliable. Legally I think it is supposed to be certed but I could be wrong |

Location: Christchurch | I believe it only needs to be certed if it requires structural modification to fit, or if it results a 20% or more increase in power.

Location: Auckland | Will more then likely require a cert if the wof man notice's the turbo. Before driving it to hard I would reccomend getting the highest octane gas you have available and putting it on a dyno just to check its not going to knock and that the a/f ratio is ok. Lucky buy! 8) |

Location: Wellington | Haha I saw one of these last time I was at a CAA auction, thought it looked a little more riced up than normal, open it up and sure enough there was a small turbo plonked in front of it. Such a weird modification for one of these ay? Good buy though! Looks very nice and should be a decent boost in power! |
