it is getting plenty of fuel as flames shot out of intake mani
sure the leads are on in the correct order??

Im thinking the battery we were using to turn it over may not have been powerfull enough as the starter kept making a funny noise and stoping cranking the motor over but no nasty noises from the head or the block so fingures crossed it starts tonight
most likely, it should start after two cranks, if you are cranking for ages cause it was too rich (or leads in wrong order) the starter may make funky noises (low voltage etc)

duh yea now it started first turn had 2 and 3 mixed up

only thing i can say is damm spools the td05h to 5psi at 3k and feels like it could tow a house. Manual rack is a bit different

Just need to tune it a bit now

I have a small oil bubble comming from between the headgasket and the head about the size of a pin prick is this normal untill the head settles (warmed up and let cool off) or have we fucked something up
Head was shaved and new gaskets used and was super clean when placed on the block

you sure its comming from the headgasket and not from above like the cam bung, or vtec soleniod?
Oil will settle on the headgasket to head area if either of these are leaking.

And no, there should be no leaks with a new headgasket if you use the correct gasket and the head and block were straight, and you used the correct torque and sequence

its alive and running mint sorted head gasket problem, Taken it for a quick tune prob needs dyno cant find a road without traffic in auckland to spool it up though each gear. Got a small oil leak from my turbo return line and i need to finish off my pcv valve ( taped block but need to install the valve)

Clutch seems to be holding it fine to all them out there who havent done it with a stock pressure plate

has some real nice all round power thats usuable, Came though a round about in second last night big no no will be doing that in 3rd from now on hehe

holds 5psi fine with good air fuels on the 440s tuned tempoaraly at 12.5:1 will lean it out a little.

On another note my tps is -7% is that normal should it be at 0% wondering as i can slightly touch the thottle but the air fuel sits at 19:1 for a second before it engages to 12:1

yes thats because the ECU thinks the injectors are on overrun (Off throttle) so it cuts fuel.

This maybe your program, however I think your TPS needs adjusting.

Make sure its actually 0% when you lift off otherwise injectors won't cut on off throttle.

I would leave it at 12:5:1 in boost. You are sorta borderline for safety margin as it is now.

mmmm cams for xmas lol wonder if them kelford vtec killer cams, i know they have stupid long duration but what you reacon about giving power on top of what i have as its pritty much N/A anyway with 5psi trying to do something really different to what has been done before....... Will be purchacing b18cr crank and B18b forged rods after xmas 2 on my shopping list with arp bolts, waiting for a second hand set of forgys or something to come in my price range the whole lot has only cost me 200 so far that way can take the boost up a little... Torque steers all over the place allready

mmm still need a catchtank and a pcv valve the nipple is venting to the atmosphere right out the side of the block and i got a bit of stuff comming out of there

i got new valve stem seals and reseated but i smoke when i deaccellerate out the exhaust maybe something to do with the pcv system i think and random times when at idle

12.5 is MAX a/f. even still, if your going to load it up on a track for long periods then thats very very borderline.

turned the vtec off over xmas as was having some issues getting all the values on the road... low cam seems fine. Will look at a dyno after xmas to get that all smoothed out.

Still loses traction on low cam after 5k in 1,2,3

and impossible to drive in the wet with the manual rack

just got a catch tank for the pcv system thanks russell.

Seem to have a issue if i dont boost it or just on random occasions that there will be a big chuff off smoke out the exhaust of oil and there is oil in my intercooler piping but the turbo has been rebuild not to long ago
where to get kits to rebuild tdo5h want to prob have a go at rebuilding it myself.

what do you guys reacon about vtec killer cams i know they are not designed for turbo but to be different i was thinking about trying a set out and see how they go im worried about the high lift in the crvtec as the 31mm valve releases are a we small for the 33mm vtec valves and i had 0.24 milled to make sure it was smooth when we built the motor tuning wont prob be an issue its just playing around

Does anyone know the max lift for a b20B and b16a combo so i dont have to clay it up? or be lazy and drop a valve or 4

I hear i cant adjust them more than 4degree on the intake cam to keep clearance

Have you considered the problem of massive overlap on them? From memory they're a 304-306 degree cam.

IMHO it's not worth spending a chunk of money to run badly and possiby kill the engine just to be different.
