Indicator Resistance - Flashing Fast

Hey Guys,

Just got my car back from the shop getting a bit of work done and they fitted the new indicators into my front body kit. However by doing so they changed the big bulbs to the little T10 wedge size bulbs and now all my indicators flash fast as if I have a bulb out. I believe it is because the new bulbs have less resistance.

Question is... Becasue they all still flash, can i get a WOF with them being like this?

Thanks,

c) flashes:
i. faster than two flashes per second, or
ii. slower than one flash per second, or
iii. at a different rate from other lamps on the same side.
thats what the LTSA say

and yes i think it will be because of the current draw on the circuit having less resistance in the from the smaller bulbs

its illegal if it doesnt meet those

A lamp must flash at a fixed frequency in the range

Re: Indicator Resistance - Flashing Fast

one way... get ur multi-tester, and set it on ohm-meter. get your stock indicator bulb, get the resistance for it. then get the resistance of your new wedge bulb.... then, work out the difference. u only need to find a resistor inline (on positive wire) at this difference to fix it.

well, im no electrician, but thats what my logic says.... studied electronic for a while.

Re: Indicator Resistance - Flashing Fast

yeah I had this issue when I changed my front indicators. Technically you can't get a WOF like that so I just paralleled a 50W 6.8ohm resistor across each bulb and it's all fixed
