Location: Invercargill | Sanding and bogging a spoiler for painting Ive got a ITR spoiler, paints cracked, and there is a small crack on the very top. Im wondering what to sand it down with? so that it is ready to be primed and painted Wet and dry? 1200 or 800 grit? etc Last edited by Mike1234; 22nd June 2008 at 12:18 PM. Fire a guide coat on it, knock it back a little bit and see where the high or low spote are. It may just need a high build primer which you can then sand to flatten it off.

I'd get started on something like 400 if the paint is dodgy, or higher if you just want to key the paint for the primer. Is the crack going to move much? If it is, the bog will just drop out down the track. Maybe some resin in it would help, not sure, I have both here anyways if required.
