Sanding and bogging a spoiler for painting

Ive got a ITR spoiler, paints cracked, and there is a small crack on the very top.

Im wondering what to sand it down with? so that it is ready to be primed and painted

Wet and dry? 1200 or 800 grit? etc

How bad is it cracked? Is the crack in the paint or plastic?

Does it really need bogged? Fire a guide coat on it, knock it back a little bit and see where the high or low spote are. It may just need a high build primer which you can then sand to flatten it off.

Just paint cracking, and just a small split at the back of the wing that would need to be filled

How stable is the paint and crack?

I'd get started on something like 400 if the paint is dodgy, or higher if you just want to key the paint for the primer.

Is the crack going to move much? If it is, the bog will just drop out down the track. Maybe some resin in it would help, not sure, I have both here anyways if required.

Mate, Unless your'e painting it yourself take it to the guy who is - they will tell you what needs doing to get a professional finish. No point in doing it all and then they tell you its all wrong...

Do it once, do it right.
