Re: ROCKER COVER IDEAS?

30 minutes? Your clock was broken...

Stripper is meant to be left for about 10 minutes? time to scrape it off 5 minutes? rinse & repeat 5? minutes 5 minutes dry time? 5 minutes to mask and spray primer?

Theres 30 and you've not shaved it yet.... I call BS lets see some pics of it anyway.

Thumbs up Re: ROCKER COVER IDEAS?

hah maori time ... and i was being a smartass. Altho paint stripper was this real acidic shit i found in the shed, and it took a few minutes, once i scrubbed with a brush and hose. no need to repeat it. I attacked the letters with a real Rough grit electrical sander attachment, and went to fine types towards the end, then used some paint prep remover (dunno what its called) to clean it, gave it a spray with some etch type primer which can take a bit of heat, and sprayed it with black heat paint.

As for the time it really didnt take long, although i was just being impatient. My other one took a few days, but that was hardout going for a mint finish. I knows its not a race lol, a good job does take time. so dont rush !

And ill get some pics up when i can

Re: ROCKER COVER IDEAS?

hate to burst your bubble but when i sanded mine off (the honda writing and that) if you can still read it (honda etc) in the metal, chances are you'll still be able to see it if you use normal paint (as in not a wrinkle).

We'll i could and i had to paint it twice in the end once i had re sanded it right out...

EDIT: just looking at it again, might be ok.
