Re: Hurlstone Drive Sprint, New Plymouth

I am shifting house so wont be at hurlstone drive bugger it all but am definately doing the rallysprint, this is a great piece of road and is 10km long, unfortunately will be doing it without notes as will have a 1st time co-driver in the car but still should be a hell of a lot of fun, bring it on. By the way if someone wants to enter it is on Tarmac and the regs can be downloaded at www.taranakicarclub.org.nz.
Date is Sunday July 13th.

Yea be good to give it another thrash. Manfeild was good fun but made me realise i need to get rid of my dodgy falken tyres and get something thats gonna give me a bit more traction. Havent got any yet but should have some by taupo. Be good to see your car out again.

I know what you mean when I went to Taupo years ago with shitty street tires it was awful. Just looked through your pictures too, your setup looks good

Re: Hurlstone Drive Sprint, New Plymouth

Was a pretty good day racing, but very cold and damp. Had 1 practice and 2 officals, all of which I spun out. Think it was partly to do with the punture I got in the morning destroying my race tyre. So I had 3 semi slicks and 1 brand new road tyre.
All the same was out having some fun in the car, rather than it sitting in the shed . Now off to buy some new dunlops DZ03G

Re: Hurlstone Drive Sprint, New Plymouth

lol 3 good tires were better then my 2 avrage and 2 useless ones.

*Note to self, Scorchers are not good for racing and should be left for making coloured smoke.*

Time to get Proxie 4s all round.

Dont know what tyres to get myself... Damn things got so much torque it just want to keep spinning the hell out of them! Pretty good effort for the first timed event i thought though. Hope everyone else had a good day out there
