| Senior Member 5,000rpm (VTEC Power!) | New Trailer (56k hmm) Well yesterday i picked up my new car transport trailer. Been in need of one for a long time, because i was sick and tired of having to either borrow one, or pay like $250 every time i had to take the car somewhere for a weekend. Got the trailer built in Te Puke by Prescott Trailers. They are the guys who make the car transporters for Hire Pool etc. So it is very similar to their hire trailers with a few changes. And these trailers seem very well made and can take all the abuse that the hirepool ones get, hence why i decided to go for one. Side View ![]() Front View: Including tyre rack. ![]() Tyre Rack: Looks bloody awesome. Not bad considering they had never built one on the front of these trailers before. Its removable to. ![]() Tilting Guard: Easy loading, can just dry on and open the door and get out. ![]() The trailer tilts for easy loading of the car. I also had the rear ramps extended by 300mm because the shorter ones cause a few issues with bumper clearance getting on and off. The folding guard is awesome to, because it makes it real easy even with a very low car to open the door when its on the trailer. I'm really stoked with how it came out. And getting it built down there ended up being thousands cheaper than having it built in Auckland, so that made me happy to.

As for weight i believe it is around 650ishkg. So quite heavy really. Tow vehicle will either be my hilux or a hiace van (Big one with 2.5t motor)

Na i didn't get a wof till i got back to Auckland, because i couldnt find anywhere that was open. Did register it though, got the plate before i left auckland. Ended up costing me high $6***'s, which i reckon is pritty damn cheap for a trailer like that. I tried many many places up in Auckland but the general response was that due to the increase in steel costs these trailers are now around the $8-9k mark, and that was without tyre rack etc. End of the day even if i only keep it for a few years these types of trailers don't go down in price very much at all for resale, so it was a bit to fork out for one but i should get a big % of that back if i ever sell it. Plus if you are paying $250 a weekend to race thats $1750 in hire fees just for the 7 rounds of ss2000 +++ any practice days etc. Pics of the car on trailer are going to have to wait a bit. I'm just working on a few last bits and pieces before my car's "new look" will be revealed. Stay tuned.

But i decided that it was just something that could go wrong with a trailer, and it was better to keep it simple. Imagine driving down the road and it looses air pressure and then suddenly your trailer deck is scraping along the ground......
