Location: Christchurch | Exhaust setup for b16a2 I want a full headers>back exhaust setup, this is what I want: Performance Reasonably stock looks (I dont want a 10" tip, but a nice, subtle tip is fine) A nice sound (my sound atm is very nice). People always saying 2.25" Mandrel Bent, with two resonators and a Bullet Style muffler.. What I want to know, is what specific resonators exactly people reccomend, and what specific mufflers people reccomend. I want to do this once and do it right, thanks.

| Senior Member 6,000rpm (Max Torque) | It cost me around 250 for mandrel bent 2.25 inch pipe and two resonators from Magoo, and it is LOUD . It would pay to get the longest resonators you can get, or even try 3. I'm gonna get a third one put in coz mines annoying. I have straight through resonators with holes on the inside, the other ones quieten better but are more obstructive. |

| Senior Member 6,000rpm (Max Torque) | i have a resonator that replaced the cat, and another long one in the middle, both standard coby resonators with a stainless straight through N1 type mufller on the back... 2.25in... ok in terms of loudness.. but important thing is it does not crackle when vtec kicks in like some others... |

Location: Christchurch | SoL what brand of muffler is it? A friend of mine has a muffler that was on his Prelude when it was shipped from Japan, and it sounds like a buzzy bee when it hits VTEC, exactly what I dont want. Big H: What is the TRR muffler like, is that an N1 style muffler, good performance or? Come on guys, more input on your muffler and resonators setup for b16a/b16a2 (1600 DOHC VTEC) engines! I want to know what is the good muffler and resonators to go for performance and a nice sound (and no I didn't just win lotto, so am still on a semi-budget like all of us!) ![]()

| Senior Member 3,000rpm (Grandma Drag) | i've put a rage stainless steel muffler in feb, quite a nice sound which changes over the first couple weeks , and now i think it's finally settled into a nice deep sound. still has that crackly (tinny even?) sound at 2500-3500rpm, though my car has always had that. this cost me $325 incl install ($199 muffler only incl gst)on my da6 (cos of the crazy pipe setup, they shoulda went out the right side, god knows why they go out on the left). When i first saw it i was like nah...but once on the car its like woah that looks pretty cool me thinks i need a couple resonators, because it is real loud now, being basically a straight through exhaust system. i wouldn't mind knowing the approx cost of resonators anyone, and would they restrict performance a lot?!?!?ps:- btw i got beaten by a nose by a worked gts-t last nite...gutted....

| resonators range from $40 to $100 depending on size, and they can make performance better somtimes cos of backpressure and stuff.most staight bolt on systems like DC sports and skunkworks have at least two resonators (somtimes 1,somtimes 3 depending on car) |

Location: Te Puke | if your on a low budget i would recommend a 2 1/4 inch system with 3 straightthrough cobes (bout $80 each) in place of existing mufflers with no cat - and this will be fairly loud so make sure you get big cobes  |
