| Senior Member 700rpm (Idle) | what size tyre should i put on my 14s ive got some 14 inch standard honda mags for dragin that have 195 width tyre on them , but i was thinking of going down to partsworld and getting some bigger tyre like 205 or wider . is this worth it or is it a waste of time and are 195s an ok size ? and what size tyre can fit on 14"rims?. i cant afford slicks or semi slicks so im just speaking of road tyres ![]()

| Senior Member 700rpm (Idle) | Its actually the rubber compound & its friction coefficiant that makes the difference to traction (however wider tyres allow you to use better rubber) so unless your going to buy better tyres & not just wider ones then its probably a waste :P |

| Senior Member 6,000rpm (Max Torque) | you can only go to a certain width on different rims e.g. my mags are 6.5 inch wide so i can only get up 215's from memory on it - have to measure it and see what width yours are

| Also the tyre profile makes a difference as the higher profile (ie 65 or 70) the more the tyre will flex, a 50 or 55 profile tyre generally aint to expensive and still gives good grip but the 45s and below get very expensive, try www.autospeed.com.au as they had a very good article a while back on tyres that explains it all far better than I can. |
