Identify this bug

My mum's been complaining about round red patches on her leg that looks like insect bites. We went through her wardrobe and managed to find this:

Does anyone know what kinda bug it is? Is it like a tick or something?

Re: Identify this bug

A slater? Haven't heard of them biting though... is more likely a type of tick, which embeds itself in its bite doesn't it?

Re: Identify this bug

Mum said she didn't find any bugs on her, the bites themselves are round and red, about 3-5cm in diameter. Looks like a bruise when you look at it. However mum said when the bites first appear there's a very small hole at the centre which look like a bite mark. By the way the bug itself is only about 0.5cm in length.

Nah slaters are safe as, what your Mum has sounds like classic White tail spider bites shits of things. It'll get itchy and quite sore, don't scratch the hell out of it use Savlon or something.

Re: Identify this bug

Like this?

If so you have a classic old infestation of bed-bugs, done any travelling lately?

Get on it quick they multiply like wildfire and if you find one there will be thousands more where you cant see them They are the awesomo ninjas at hiding and only come out when its dark.
They feed on old dead skin, jizz, blood, snot and general human filth that you cant see (just like carpet mites) but the female ones suck blood to feed and incubate their larvae.
Heres more pics...

And the bugs themselves...

They all look different but are the same species, they go through 5 nymph stages and one adult and males and females look different too so all-together they can look 12 different ways.

Have fun!

Re: Identify this bug

Here's some pics of the bites on my mum, the first one is on her arm and is quite new. The second one is on her leg and it's a few days old. She said the bite will start off a light colour like the first pic then darken to the one in second pic, then it will fully resolve about a week later.

By the way the bug I have doesn't really look like the pics, the thorax, head and legs don't extend out past the shell thing it's all fully under like a slater.

Holy shit dude your mum has some hairy assed legs!!

Nah they just look like flea bites, I get red patches like that with fleas too, especially if I scratch them and they itch like a bastard.

Doesn't look like bed-bugs as there would be heaps more bites.

I assure you they aren't love bites haha. Mum just said about 2 days after the bite it becomes really itchy for around 3 days then slowly subsides.

You need to read the whole post, the pictures of bugs are Bed Bugs.
The pic MMJA put up is an unrelated bug which likely didn't cause the bites.

The bites on his mums legs look like flea bites.
