I thought any marine grade timber was H5? Meaning it can be submersed for long periods of time.

Freedom sell mass produced crap, but I think you'd easily sell something like this for $1000+ at a niche store, depending on how it was finished.

I think H4 and H5 is treated for use in ground (ie fence posts, house piles etc) and H6 is marine grade for marine piles etc. Apparently "marine" ply is being renamed "Premium A" grade or something like that because of the confusion it caused with people thinking it was treated...

Makes sense, I've only ever used H5 before as we scored half a packet for free as it fell off the truck

Re: One of my Uni papers -Just finished

cheers for all the commnets

to various above..

Chair is comfy as, designed on proportions from the 90percentile man, and no it doesnt fall over back wards, i modeled it and actually spent some time testing pivot points and weight distribution to make sure it didnt fall over.

and about the Marine ply, yip marine ply is h6, i actually just used it cause i didnt wana but a whole 8x4ft pannel, so just bought some from another guy at uni who was using marine ply

and about mass production, noway, i would have to simplyfy this alot, rite now if someone said build me one, i honestly wouldnt even bother for less than 2k, thats how much time goes into it, and i wouldnt expect anyone to pay $2000 for it anyway

But you wouldn't buy a car that was built in 2008 but methods and materials used from 1990 would you.
