Re: xsiv b16a turbo build v2

You could have idle problems if the tune is crap, otherwise you should be able to idle 880cc just fine without a peak and hold injector box.

If the tuner is shit, then you could try make one or buy a FJO injector driver box (google it)

P.S a YS1 would not really suit a high power turbo application, I would say a longer box would.

However YS1 is a cool box because it can fit the hydro gearsets and has tougher syncros. So buy that YS1 (they are rare)

maybe add a Y80 gearset (I can sell you one if you want)
and add a LSD to it (honda LSD you can get a 4.4 lsd for cheapish and they go into a YS1 peice of piss)

Andrew was running a complete y80 gearset with a YS1 box on his 11.8 second N.A car.
He said YS1 was WAY too short and stuffed up the 60ft time

Re: xsiv b16a turbo build v2

I am running a ys1 no lsd box already, turns out the one i was looking at was a shitty single wheel spinner like mine.
a rebuilt ys1 with a y80 gear set would be good for my turbo application.
maby a js racing lsd or type r?? not to sure whats going to fit tho
or would a y80 lsd hold the thrashing.

block has been assembled and put together, the black has turned out well

o and for anyone who notices, the cam belt is not timed

Ive polished all my intercooler piping and polished my mainfold and fule rail.
modfying my rocker cover today too for my 5 line pvc system.this should be sufficant for venting pvc.

my mate got the engin crane, but forgot to get the legs so im behind a day now. mite take a day of work to do it.
motor is all tourqued up ready to have the gear box attached.

also pick up a new set of smoke set gauges, boost oil presure and water temp. also have af ratio.

im running the standard da6 ristor box. with 440cc vr4 injectors. will this work with the 880, and yeah the are suited for an evo to. not 100% clued up on the peak and hold thing.

having my custome surge tank and pvc built in to one box, will be tucking in behind the strut tower.

to brake the colour up. i was going to but changed my mind.

what do u guys think about this, have i put the -10 fittings in the right place. i couldent get them into the baffle.
i was going to us nice fittings but they were $75 each. lol im sure the guy was trying to rip me off, so i got these $15 ones.
ive just taped them into the head
sanded of the honda vtec, for the shaved look. going to be painting it the same color as the car

Re: xsiv b16a turbo build v2

you will need to put some sort of baffle in front of those outlets otherwise oil is just going to go straight into them...

Re: xsiv b16a turbo build v2

Walboro in my DA is still loud with a full tank, interior is stripped though. I've read of Walboro's packing up quite a bit on Honda-Tech...

Can't you just try starting the car, if it runs sweet, if it doesn't change the pump?

Take the line of your fuel filter and get someone to turn the key on but don't start it just so the idiot lights come on. You will soon know if you have fuel pressure or not.

Yeah u can lift the back seat to see if your getting power there. Not sure what colour the wire is just stab them all till you get a result.

Goodluck.

Re: xsiv b16a turbo build v2

ok so i ripped everything appart last night and i fixed it

my method of testing

disconected the full pump under the seat and tested it with 12v to see if the fuel pump was working,

yes it was working

checked the main fule relay, it had power but no power was going to the fule pump,
(possable faulty relay or ecu signal)

checked the single wire from ecu,
it was not getting a signal form the ecu.
check the relay that switched the signal, (link plus use earth singals so u have to use relay for everything)

it was not getting power.
checked the ecu power, it was not getting power
found a fuse in the ecu main power line, blowen, their was my problem

i think it was arking slightly as the plug was not fully in.

fixed and running now, just making a custome gauge holder for my gauges and then it sorted,

need to get it in for a tune asap cant wait

Re: xsiv b16a turbo build v2

ok so i got busy lat night and raided my missis top draw
got me some sweet panite hoes and and went to work making my custome gauge pod

good for doing custome fiberglass work

after applying one layer to the outside and waiting for it to dry, flip it over and fill the gaps up from the bottome so u get a nice finsh.
I used a light to help it go hard quicker

and nex thing u know ur done

took all of 2 h and about 20 bux. not counting the paint

hay where is every one mounting their electric boost controlers?? im not sure, any one got some ideas
