| Senior Member 4,000rpm (Taxi Drag) | EF1 GTI B16A Build Well, it's been a while since anyone has seen this car around H-Town.. 18 months to be more precise. ![]() Anyway, I was originally gonna turbo the D motor, but gave up on that idea. Now I have a B16A to put in, cheers to Strong Honda. So far, the wiring loom has been placed in, and the old un-needed mounts removed from the engine bay to make way for the new ones (Gearbox hanger and front mount). This is about what it looks like at the moment. The car after it got paneled and primed (still needs to be blocked and doors, boot lid and bonnet are in the shed).. ![]() ![]() ![]() The bay.. ![]() B16A minus valve cover as it was getting painted.. ![]() In there.. ![]() Pully clearance.. ![]() A casualty.. ![]() The state of the interior.. ![]() The state of the garage floor.. ![]() And the valve cover. A few little brackets here and there will be the same colour.. ![]() ![]() So at the moment, I'm waiting on the "L" bracket for the rear gearbox mount as I didn't get it when I got the engine kit, so bit of a bummer there. But after the motor is in, the plan is as follows.. Remove motor and weld engine mounts in fully Spray engine bay with a 2K to match the body colour Block body and spray (already paneled and primed) Replace all the bolts and nuts in the engine bay with zinc plated items (already purchased) Clean motor and paint bits accordingly and replace bolts with zinc plated ones Put the motor back in and fabricate an exhaust system and intake And then just buy some parts here and there to make it look tidy.

| Senior Member 4,000rpm (Taxi Drag) | Re: EF1 GTI B16A Build Haha true Hamilton styles (except for your last one Ian).. Yea, I couldn't pull myself to just give up after so long. Haha, car's gonna be a real special blend of white and white! Nah the colour's called ICE WHITE.. basically the purest form of white gloss they have. Thinking about adding something special'er to it though, just to make it pop. Should look pretty good. Yep, the block and stuff on the motor is pretty filth, took the intake to work the other day and put it in the shot blaster, came out way minter. Might give it a coat of aluminium silver, then it'll look at home with the valve cover.
