Ok, first off, this is probably going to be a boring, relatively uneventful build thread, following the process of a 16 year old installing a B18C engine in his DC1 Integra. First car: Anyway, about seven months ago, I purchased my first car, a 1996 DC1 Integra Xi. I must have bought it solely on looks because I didn't even check the car out personally or know that there was a far superior engine avaliable. I don't have any pictures of it when I bought it, but lets say it wasn't in the best condition, wheels were kerbed to hell, nails in the tyres, of which there were three various types, bad paint, dents, bumper falling off a bit. Despite all this I liked it and bought it for $3,200 (I only paid $1,600).Mods: During the time I've owned it the following has changed: Replaced wheels Lowered it myself on coilovers, and now lowered on Neuspeed Race Removed A/C Changed the oil a couple of times Put some GreenStuff pads in Stuck a cold air intake in there Changed the broken mirrors for some spoon style ones 5 Star alarm and probably some other stuff... Future: So one day I decided I wanted to put a B18C in it, and that will be happening very shortly. Some black ITR headlights Proper mirrors that use bolts, not screws... HONDATA Paint / Panel Tints / fix windscreen up 15" / 16" dark rims with dish Front lip Headers + exhaust on B18C Some JDM goodies etc... Here are some pictures: What it looks like now: ![]() Engine bay: ![]() End: So that's pretty much my life story... I mean my car's story so far. I hope to keep this relatively up to date and hopefully it will interest and / or help someone. Peace. ![]() Last edited by DeltaSlaya; 15th December 2008 at 04:46 PM. Reason: Updated TOC. |

![]() I could be keen on the power steering pump, what's included? I probably just need the bracket, pump and belt? Sweet, hopefully if I get a pump off Hayce it'll work.

And yes, I'm hoping to do the conversion myself with some help from friends. Last edited by DeltaSlaya; 7th June 2008 at 11:48 AM.

Thanks for watching, hope some people have subscribed, the engine should be here this week and you'll get to watch some noob swapping an engine. ![]()

When that first engine comes out, you may want to think about doing a mini wire tuck or something. Any mod that you can do in the engine bay is usually easier with the engine out. I'll keep an eye on this. |

I won't be able to run my current exhaust system so I was planning on getting a cat-back system off Adam. The thing is I can't afford headers at this stage and Adam only has a Type R cat which I'm assuming would be too short for non-R headers. So if anyone has a catalytic converter that would fit I'd be keen to buy it for <$50. |

At around 4pm, the truck man delivered my engine and components to my garage. ![]() ![]() Unpacked: ![]() DOHC VTEC FTMFW!! ![]() ![]() Some of the wiring! ![]() ![]() So, I'm going to look up some fuse layouts and stuff to see if they correspond with the fuseboxes I've been supplied. Also, there's a missing bolt that holds the bracket that contains the inline bearing for the passenger axle: ![]() ![]() What should I do about that? I guess I have to source another bolt? Anyone got a picture of what it looks like? Would it be the same as the other bolts on that bracket? Peace! Last edited by DeltaSlaya; 14th June 2008 at 09:37 PM. |

UPDATE: 13/06/08 - ENGINE ARRIVE Ok so some bolts and stuff were missing and hopefully that will all get shipped to me, and then I should have an engine ready for installation! ![]() I don't think I'll do a proper wire tuck at this stage - I just want to get it going as quickly as possible, in the easiest way. Maybe in a year or something when I can afford to do a full rebuild? |

UPDATE: 13/06/08 - ENGINE ARRIVE you'll be able to use alot of the bolts/brackets and wee things you might need off the old motor, looking good though, should be pretty straight forward providing you've done your homework |

I would use the bolts and brackets off my current engine but I'm planning on selling it for a few hundred so I'd like to keep that intact. You won't believe what they forgot to include on the engine - The metal screen that covers the flywheel! I'm lucky I wondered why the flywheel was clearly visible!
