Project - Wife Spec DC2 - lots of new pics!

Righto - I thought I would keep a bit of a log on this small but labour intensive project.....

I can't believe this wasn't snapped up earlier!!!!!! Was a super bargain - much better bargain then my Teal one.....Anyways my win

Forgot I had my camera at home as I was gonna take pics of it going on the trailor and coming off and all the blah blah - but didn't get that done so oh well.

1993 Dc2 Type R swap $7k

Here it is sitting at home........
Even just driving it off the trailor I can tell the clutch is awsome - the engine mounts are certainly awsome - exhaust not too loud - just perfect

So here is the plan.

All of the running gear, engine box, mounts, exhaust, linkages, ECU etc will be transferred to this

With the addition of this

And the running gear from the green teg will be transferred to the silver one - nice quiet exhaust and nice mildly worked B18C - perfect for a young lady

So essentially I have to swap almost everything from one car to other - you are asking yourself - why not do up the silver one and give her the green one.....well.....the green one is registered as a 2 seater and has a couple things butchered which means rear seats would be a mission to put back together - would also mean a lot more $$ spent on panel and paint to get the silver up to spec.

So As you can see from the photo there are some standard struts with RSR springs I think they are which app don't go low at all but are firm which will make it safer to drive but means the lip will stay intact!!

All the rear trims, seats and what not need to go back in - a few dash panels, centre console and what not also need putting in....

So - I will get my power steering rack back from ENZED today who are looping it which means tonight I will get the civic all back together as far as being able to roll - meaning I can get a diff car in the garage and get this swapping process underway!!!

I think that is enough for now - will have more progress in 1 of my 3 build threads tonight or tomorrow no doubt!

Re: Project - Wife Spec DC2

err - this silver one is for the wife - I bought it for 3 reasons..1 it was dirty dirty cheap - 2 wife needed a new car - 3 (most important) I need a B18Cr to run my supercharger....so this was perfect. The business bought the cars for TAX purposes of course......but the money originated in personnel accounts - so it didn't really cost the business anything as such......

Business will be doing well when I am playing golf everday

Your a brave man. 3 builds, i struggle with one. I see it was you that beat meat to the supercharger kit. Would have been nice on the 2l b18cr. Good luck with your builds.

it replaces the intake manifold, and the throttle body is pretty much in the same place as normal

Re: Project - Wife Spec DC2

yeap it comes with a new intake manifold the charger bolts on underneath the manifold etc.

I'll take some better pics of the charger at some stage and post em up in the build thread for the green one.
