Re: FBI Shop Hack Quick Tidy Up Thread - new pics

righto

so here are some pics after a bit of work.

Empty Engine Bay - going to deloom and relocate battery and fuse box

Engine split from Box and ready to go to RSL for charger install

Few squirts of degreaser and wallah

MSD equipped dizzy and coil etc to go on

Innovative mounts that came with the Kit (rear one now bolted to car)

That is all for now.

Should have some pics of the charger fitted in the next week or two.

Will have sard reg, ac autotechnic fuel rail also fitted and what not.

Re: FBI Shop Hack Quick Tidy Up Thread - UPDATE 17/6/08

Nice mounts Adam !!! haha ..

Don't bolt the rear one down yet - otherwise it can be a pain in the ass to get the rear bracket back in with those mounts (trust me .. been there done that)

A custom water to air intercooler build into the intake manifold would be better

but its even more impossible to do up the rear engine mount bolts if the motor is in isn't it???

I will be running a water/meth injection kit.

Getting some custom intercooler setup made will be more costly and more timing consuming...

Re: FBI Shop Hack Quick Tidy Up Thread - UPDATE 17/6/08

had a very productive night last night.

Removed all wiring from the engine bay on the driver side and completed delooming of that side of the car - so much quicker then the first time I attemped it!!!

The passanger side loom is all ready to be pushed through to the inside but I need to remove the air con unit under the dash so means I need to pull the dash out - was hoping to not have to do this....

So hopefully but tonight (have something on) i'll at least have the dash out and the loom pulled through and sectioned to the various areas that need to go various places.

then all I need to do is organise the power cables for starter and fuse box etc extended so the fuse box and sit in the glove box area and will be done.

Well I need to mount the battery somewhere too I guess.

The motor and charger are now at RSL getting installed while I am away in the US so that will be all ready to go when I get back.

The car is getting panel and full respray while I am away at Whenuapai Auto Refinish and the guards are being pumped to fit the work wheels...

Pics to come when I take them tonight.

after much digging around - that colour doesn't exist - it must be some myth.

They do an indy yellow which is what comes on the NZ new and USDM spec type R's......Either way its gonna be that colour or very close to it.

engine bay is also being done

Ah ah the case of the missing JRSC solved. I hadn't seen this updated thread before I PM'd you.
Good luck with it I'm hanging out to see how it goes. So you planning to keep the ITR compression with 12psi or you going to drop the compression?
Will be interested to see how much more power and torque it will make.

Re: FBI Shop Hack Quick Tidy Up Thread - UPDATE 17/6/08

Just tune super conservative and im sure it will do 12psi, intake temps will affect it alot (so gotta have a decent intake temp retard added in so if it ever gets hot it won't knock)

Prob easy be 60C++!!
Heck even in the summer stock B16A gets 60C intake temp at times.

Mine hangs around 37-40C in summer.

P.S read the JRSC instructions and there is some rangi ways they tell you to set it up and tune it

Install it correctly, hondata S300 will be good, tune it well will be a fast ITR

Re: FBI Shop Hack Quick Tidy Up Thread - UPDATE 17/6/08

I am going to run it with the 6psi kit to start with - just get the setup right and make sure everything is sweet......

It is highly likely i will go with a water injection kit in the near future and will run the 12pis pulley then.

Only parts I have to get are the header and injectors...

Yep it will handle that no problems, and be much faster in a stright line than other ITR motors.

what sorta power does a tuned stock internal ITR motor put out with a 6psi JRSC?
I'm guessing over 160kw at the wheels
