Lookie what i just bought..... ![]() H2B Kit with engine mounts for 1996-2000 Honda Civic EK H2B Adapter Plate SFI Approved Aluminum Forged Flywheel & Locking Plate 3 CNC Billet Motor Mounts with Engine Side Mount Pillow Block with Bearing Extended Clutch Release Fork Slave Cylinder Extension Block PCV Valve Extension Block Clearance Template Bolts Scored it brand new still in the box for a pretty sweet price, problem was postage was $230US!! as it's 46lbs The B18cR is sold and out of the hole already. While I wait for the kit to arrive and to source a Euro-R H22a i have to re-build my spare S80 with new bearings and a synchro set. The ALB system has to be ripped out of the bay as I'm going back to a manual braking system, the aircon and PS have already been assholed and are sitting in a useless heavy pile on the shed floor. The ATS metal diff I was going to use I have changed my mind on and sold already, I'm just going to stick with a stock ITR diff as I can't be fucked with a harsh as ATS in daily driving. I'm looking for some manual brake lines, master cyl and prop valve for EK if anyone knows of any i can get hold of them. While I wait for stuff it's probably a good opportunity to tidy up the engine bay, maybe squirt some paint on it. I'm stoked, this is going to be a fun project will be interesting to see how it compares to the crx performance-wise, I drove the rex again in the weekend and I'd kind of forgotten how bloody fast it is. The H2B's gonna have it's work cut out thats for damn sure. |

I'm ideally after a 15/16 or a 1" if possible, it's got prelude calipers on the front so should really have a bigger pot.

The S80 I'm using is out of a DC8R 4-door ITR, I've had it apart and it's a 4.4 FD. As far as I can tell the gears are pretty similar from the euro-R to the S80 ITR but it's the final drive which is different. Should sit at around 3900 at 100k's like the coupe used to before i sold the motor and box.

Located an LSD so the box just needs to go back together, I'm going to replace all the bearings and probably do the 5th/reverse set as it looks pretty worn. The H2B kit has arrived but I got busted for GST, just waiting for Customs to clear it and it should be arriving soon. I've also found a Euro-R H22a, just sorting out shipping at the moment so all the parts are slowly coming together. Heres some pics form last week when I pulled out the motor and started prepping the engine bay....Looks like the dash will have to come out so I can chase all the ALB system wiring back from whence it came. ![]() I wrapped up the guards and nose of the car so I didn't scratch it up while working on it. ![]() Out she comes.... ![]() This is what I'm keeping.... ![]() And this is what is going in the bin....A lot of shit must weigh over 30kg ![]() Good bye B18cR.. ![]() Now I have a hole to fill.. ![]() I still need to source a non-alb braking set-up for the front and paint the engine bay before I go any further. I'm not going to go silly and fill in all the holes and smooth it, been there done that and it's not worth the effort. I think I'm going to go midnight black base coat with a satin clear over the top, not so keen on gloss really. |

Was planning on copying your alt bracket but I think my kit possibly comes with it as it's written on the customs slip. Grind the shit out of where? As far as i can tell the only massaging that is required is the passenger side chassis rail? or do you mean grind the block to clear the alternator?

But if i wait around and find a 4.7 FD from someone say doing a 4.9 swap then I'll have a pretty mean box as the 98 spec 3rd, 4th and 5th make up for the lower FD, combine the 98 spec FD with the 96 spec gear-set and you have a pretty short combination. Chaos, that box in your/my EG is a M2T4 it's pretty rare, try looking it up you wont find much. I found on the drag strip it wasn't that good as it was hitting the rev-limiter in 3rd just before the 400m mark, would be better to be well into 4th gear as it got to the end which I suspect an S80 would be.
