the spacers did indeed come off circuit_duty_civic's vehicle. were only used due to hiren not knowing that the cars brake conversion consisted of 4x114 front and 4x100 rear. we lured Hiren in to purchasing some type R rims which is when we found the two different stud pattern.

oops testosterone just kicked in on Trademe.
Now I have some Koni adjustables and skunk2 springs on the way.

My uncle works at Stocks so I get cost plus 5% so I'll get them checked out and reconditioned if they need it but I think I got myself a bargain, springs are 8kg and 10kg.

Somehow have to hide it from the missus though....not sure how but I'll work somthing out.

Ahhh - those rears wont fit unless you change the setup. ek/ej's are usually fork type rear?

Yup but if I'm changing all the rest of the arms to ITR might as well do the LCA too.
Also they can cut off the eye and weld on a fork no probs at Stocks, my rears in the crx were originally fork type now they are eye.

These were a buttload cheaper than the Konis in the crx though thats for damn sure!!

Just missioned it to Hamilton tonight and picked up the new bonnet too

Re: doo0T doo0T's ej7/b18cR diary

Chucked the bonnet on tonight, fits pretty sweet, much better than the one on the crx.

Also put in the S300 out of the crx and uploaded the stock ITR 2001 tune from SManager again. Instantly threw a knock sensor code, turned it off and cleared CELs and all of a sudden it's a different car.

It has made a world of difference, I think the knock sensor code was retarding the shit out of the stock ecu, now it's responsive, torquey and sounds crisp where as before it was a bit dull, flat and unresponsive.
Now it's behaving much more like the b-series-R I hoped for from the beginning.

I just hope the cold start issue doesn't show its ugly head in the morning, I am half expecting to see an o2 heater primary code so my fingers are crossed.

No more cold start issues!!, I went out in the morning and it fired up straight away and idled mint, I'm so stoked to have it running 100%, it's sooo fun to drive God damn knock sensor.

Yeah I've seen it it's fucking baller, strange that both our cars are so rare but have been built so similar, what he's done is exactly what I had in mind when i started working on mine.
Kind of sucks to find mines not the only B18cR EJ7 though!
I emailled him telling him he's selling too cheap, I honestly believe he is too, shit he has got some good gear in that thing. Even 5 stud conversion and cusco diff. He must have spent a lot of $$$ on it. What he is asking is cheap for a good ITR and they are pretty common now, no offence to ITR owners intended.

I was thinking 10.5k thats why I think his is so cheap at 9.8k, If ihad his car there's no wy I'd let it go for 9.8
Someone on here should buy it and then I can have an EJ7-R buddy

Re: doo0T doo0T's ej7/b18cR diary

yeah but you have to take it with market in mind though. look at Wilsons old EK4 Turbo that went for under $10K with some goodies in it. In comparison to some, it maybe cheap, in comparison to others, its probably about right. I don't think he has spent as much as people think.. I recognise some of those parts and the engine in the pics and from what I know, he has taken advantage of what a friend of mine had up for sale, (entire CTR for parts - a fairly quick one in fact) so the running gear, along with CTR interior parts I assume have come from my friends car.

Heres a bit of a step-by-step for anyone else keen to give it a go.
I'm stoked with the result, came out mint as.

1. Take the light out, you dont need to take off the bumper, just the centre grille, you can get to the lower bolts easy enough.

2. Take the bulbs and rubber boot out of the back of the housing.

3. Heat in the oven at about 150degrees for about 10 mins or until the light becomes hot to the touch about 60-70degrees.
Lever the lens off with a screwdriver and make sur eyou pop all the clips around the outside as it comes off.
Rip off all the daggy bits that end up hanging off it once it's been pulled apart, that glue is some stretchy shit once its warmed up a bit.

4. The bit you need to paint is the chromed reflector part which sits inside the lens you just removed. take out the two screws holding it in and pull it out of the lens.

5. Mask up the reflector cone around the indicator, you dont wanna be painting that.

6. Spray that mofo, dont use shitty enamel, fork out the $23 and get a can of laquer, I use Granada black pearl to match the car.

7. carefully de-mask

8. Drop back into the lens and re-install the two screws to hold it in place.

9. Heat up the housing part int he oven again to re-soften the glue.

10. Re-assemble and re-clip together.

11. Re-install in car and stand back and check out your handywork.

I then put the CTR lip on (I had previously painted it on a nicer day)
Pretty stoked, it's starting to look less and less liek Grannies EK by the minute.
Picking up a carbon vented bonnet for it this weekend too.

Very NICE!!! Super white headlight bulbs aren't your type?
BTW, had you notice any steam when it is rainny cold and the engine getting hot? or is there steam/water inside whenever? I always wanted to have one like that. cheers

Good to see you disabled that knock code,
P.M me when you want my tuned ITR map Im pretty sure it will run it better than a base map that S300 comes with. (I pretty much used that basemap and tweaked it quite a bit)
Also Im pretty sure that basemap is quite rich, let me know how your fuel economy gets on.

Can I be your buddy, B18CR EJ1

I just had some good news today, the Koni adjustables i got for the car i took to Stocks koni-workshop and had them dyno tested on the shock dyno and they are in 100% perfect condition.
Russell the tech guy there said they behave like brand new shocks and they have a nice aggressive valving with sharp response so it's likely that they have seen less than 1000k's use! Waahoo fucking score.
They have a little bit of surface rust etc on the bodies which must have come from sitting on a shelf or being mounted in a racecar which didn't get much use.

Also the engine and gearbox from the car are up for sale $3000 or $3500 with headers and "mugen" cam cover
I have a devious plan for a re-power which will be revealed as soon as the engine sells, no point in building up anticipation if it never amounts to anything.
I found out its not the only b18cR EJ7 in the country and I want it to be unique so bye bye b18cR.
Hint, it wont be slower.
