| Senior Member 4,000rpm (Taxi Drag) | Hey there i used to own this car i'll clear up a few things. Current motor is a B18CR and S80 box Factory ITR Ecu all came as a package. Went fine when i sold it apart from one tiny little thing to do with first start up each day. Was strangest thing ever. The old motor i had in it was powered my the LINK ECU i have for sale. I brought that motor for ANTz (old asilk engine) that motor was quicker than the ITR engine! But the cusco 1way in it was annoying so i did a motor and box swap basicly to get a standard box. (and the stock motor was cheaper to run). The first motor i put in it was a SOHC Vtec i did this when i was just going to do a manual conversion. (that lasted 600km and i pulled it back out for the B Series). AS for the chromes i had been wanting to ditch them too 4 years ago i thought they where cool just like the Aussies do now! The factory tail lights are on there way to the new onwer (once again a hang up from for years ago from a time when shiny things were cool). The exhaust is a little oversize as i originally planed a turbo conversion for the car. The muffler down the back was a $70 cheappy from trade me and it actully has nothing left inside it i blew the insides clean out of it. Other than that its as i left it when i sold it to its old owner. (he could barely drive it so i guess thats why he didn't notice it getting worse). Plus he gave me a car as part of the deal that had a completely empty tank of gas so not massive amounts of respect for that guy Well have fun with it i would have loved to have finished it but i sold it to move to Aus to be with the girl. That was the biggest fuckn mistake of my life! |

Was wondering when you'd pipe up here ![]() Dont worry your car has gone to a good home now and you can be rest assured I'll have it sweet as a nut again in no time. Yeah he sold it to me with a dead empty tank too! Must be his thing ![]() A bit of an update..... I've already started on the interior tidy, just secured a set of red recaros to match the red carpet and some EK9-R mats. Just got to find an EK9-R airbag wheel if they are out there, not sure if I've ever seen one and a set of door cards and a type R cluster. The car now has new synthetic engine oil, new MTF, new dizzy & rotor and I have bought a cambelt and tensioner for it too. Will be fitting it all in the weekend and painting the type-R lip grenada black to match. It's still running like a bucket of assholes so it can really only be dash loom (I have heard horror stories about eti looms in engine swaps being a pain in the butt) or ECU now since I have checked everything else it could possibly be. I'm not worried it's only a matter of time before I get it and then it'll be a mean car the few times it has run properly it has felt really good, it was ok for a while today and i made hay while the sun shone

| Senior Member 4,000rpm (Taxi Drag) | good work i'll have a look round but i think i might still have a EK sedan VTiS dash loom lying round. Its from the very original engine (manal conversion) If i can find this i'll let you know. Man i wish i still owned this it took me 8 months of looking to find it and im 99% sure it was the first one to hit NZ shores. |

| Senior Member 7,000rpm (Peak Power) | Ok well since I got the car a lot has happened in a short amount of time. I was determined to get it running right and finally I think I can say I have achieved that which makes me relieved. It's going like a cut cat now  I havn't started tidying up the bodywork yet other than fitting a CTR grille but I have done a lot on the car.....more pics of the car and the interior after the weekend but here's a few ones of the newly tidied up engine bay. I've kind of blown the budget wide open on this one and have none left for a cert which is a bit of a cock up but I'm pretty stoked with the car and the cert can wait till next month ops: This is what happens when you go on the internet with a few beers under the belt and a credit card in your pocket. It's not the real deal as the real ones only came in grey and are US$900 but it's still excellent quality and cant be faulted on anything, it fits perfectly and the casting is totally mint, when flipped upside down it looks exactly like the OEM honda one in build quality and finish. I was a bit 50/50 on it at first and wasn't even going to fit it but now I'm stoked as and think it looks awsome. ![]() The next thing was to ditch the tiny single core radiator for a big-boy. This one is nearly 50mm thick and seems to be really well built. It's slightly different to most of the other ones I've seen, slightly thicker and the top tank is a bit different. ![]() ![]() The headers on the car turned out to be Pro N1's, not as bad quiality as i first presumed they were but they were very badly damaged, the two bottom runners were squashed to less than half their original diameter. Good old luke B16a2 saw to that prety promptly with some new SS pipe welded in. I polished them up with a bit of auto sol and wrapped the bottom section to stop it heating the sump. They have a 2.5" collector. ![]() Here's an earlier photo I took showing how clean the engine is inside, looks liek it's been well maintained there's no tar build up at all. ![]() here's the new cover and headers and radiator all fitted up, it's starting to look a lot nicer under there now! ![]() Mmmm, shiny! ![]() The last to go was the disgusting old clogged up and holed simota filter, in its place comes a Blitz mesh filter, it's just temporoy as these should not really be used on the road, but it will suffice till I get another filter. (not to mention it sounds awsome, such a nasty bark on vtec  ) ![]() More pics of the rest of the car afte rhte weekend...... |

| Senior Member 7,000rpm (Peak Power) | Re: doo0T doo0T's back in business! Had a bit of a play with the car today, decided to black out the lights CTR style and also fit up the CTR lip. Heres a bit of a step-by-step for anyone else keen to give it a go. I'm stoked with the result, came out mint as. 1. Take the light out, you dont need to take off the bumper, just the centre grille, you can get to the lower bolts easy enough. ![]() 2. Take the bulbs and rubber boot out of the back of the housing. ![]() 3. Heat in the oven at about 150degrees for about 10 mins or until the light becomes hot to the touch about 60-70degrees. Lever the lens off with a screwdriver and make sur eyou pop all the clips around the outside as it comes off. Rip off all the daggy bits that end up hanging off it once it's been pulled apart, that glue is some stretchy shit once its warmed up a bit. ![]() 4. The bit you need to paint is the chromed reflector part which sits inside the lens you just removed. take out the two screws holding it in and pull it out of the lens. ![]() ![]() 5. Mask up the reflector cone around the indicator, you dont wanna be painting that. ![]() 6. Spray that mofo, dont use shitty enamel, fork out the $23 and get a can of laquer, I use Granada black pearl to match the car. ![]() 7. carefully de-mask ![]() 8. Drop back into the lens and re-install the two screws to hold it in place. ![]() ![]() 9. Heat up the housing part int he oven again to re-soften the glue. ![]() 10. Re-assemble and re-clip together. 11. Re-install in car and stand back and check out your handywork. ![]() ![]() ![]() I then put the CTR lip on (I had previously painted it on a nicer day) Pretty stoked, it's starting to look less and less liek Grannies EK by the minute. Picking up a carbon vented bonnet for it this weekend too. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I'm sitting here having breakfast with the better half and you just blew my cover. She said "What were you using the oven for?" Stock fan, just had to notch the frame to clear the clutch slave cylinder bleed nipple.
