But you have to make sure which 5th gear part is faulty because I think there is a driver and a driven. Check with Adam, he helped me deal with the gearbox repair centre because I had no idea what that guy was talking about, hahaha. This forum is quite good for us CL1 owners. This thread talks about the gearbox fix, what parts you need. Board Message

Then it wont go into reverse for ages... Sometimes weeks... then comes back.... Very weird.... Crunches goig into 5th unless you "double clutch" it |

| Senior Member 18,000rpm+ Honda F1! | Re: XPLOIT - CL1 - Gearbox is out! ^^ the 5th gear/ reverse syncro hub thingy ma-jig wears down, and burrs over the teeth on the gear (stopping revese from sliding in, and makes 5th crunch) wen it goes in(youve managed to wear down the burred over teeth and reverse will find its way in.... eventualy the gear becomes totaly worn) i need my old h22a gearbox back, so i can post up some pics of the worn/broken 5th/reverse gear

You all welcome to register and make use of our search function. For reference, here are the bits I removed from my gearbox, the problem effects nearly all pre 2001 H22A7 cars. broken parts ( From 12 o'clock working clockwise, 5th gear syncro sleeve, 5th gear, 5th gear sync and 5th gear sync hub ) ![]() selector fork ![]() Close up on worn parts ![]() Bit of a PITA job to do tbh, but quite simply once you get going. Good luck ![]() |

| Senior Member 7,000rpm (Peak Power) | Re: XPLOIT - CL1 - Gearbox is in bits..... I have done a cartificate in Automotive Engineering, so done the work myself rather than paying a mechanic doing it. Of course, it would of taken longer and been harder without the help of Mike and Johnny. And generally, "its who you know, not what you know" ![]() So yea, took the box out ourselves and have an awesome Uncle who is fixing the box for nothing so free plug for him The Diff Shop Prices are at Trade price. Just stoked to finally be on the down slide to finishing it. Im heading out to my car this afternoon. I have some key steel now for the cam gears, so will try get those on tonight. Heard from Autopassion, Rear strut brace is couple of weeks away, unsure about bonnet. I have found a spoiler that I want...... Lack of funds I think though. Cheers |

I know what needs to be modified, but the shop couldnt tell me exactly how as he said I needed the car all back together. You cant easily modify Stainless Steel which pisses me off, I might have to cut off the end of the collector and replace it with steel... |
