Manifold: Log/Equal Length Tubular/Top mount style. Also are you going to import one or have one custom made? Will probably struggle to get a decent one "off the shelf" in NZ. Make sure you PCV setup is sorted to evacuate blow-by. Threads on H-T bout this. Oil lines/Coolant lines. Earls fittings. Don't skimp on this, will bite you on the ass if you go cheap. OEM headgasket will do the trick, if you wanna upgrade can always go for a cometic multi-layer steel gasket. If your going to that trouble should definitely throw some ARP head studs in the mix. A few gauges to monitor whats going on, boost/oil temp/water temp/EGT. Has cam-belt, water pump etc been changed? If your in there doing pistons etc it would probably pay to change these at the same time. I could keep rambling but I'm sure others will add, sorry I can't help with pistons/rods/valvetrain, I only know B series  | |

sure i work ona 2000hp dragster , it has 11:1CR and runs 40psi, but when sumthing goes a lil wrong, it blows quickly and we have to rebuild the thing once every drag event where as a low comp setup wil be able to take a lil lean/rich/ agresive timing here and there

| Senior Member 9,000rpm (S2000 Redline!) | that isnt that lower compression, i run that on a b18c and off boost of feels like my old b16a off boost, but on boost its a whole different story. 9.0:1 CR FTW :!: + the F20b (is that right lol?) will still have quite a bit of torque.

| Senior Member 18,000rpm+ Honda F1! | low compression - more timing - more boost - more lag - less efficient hp - more room for error high compression -less timing -less boost -quicker spool -more efficient power - requires more precise tuning thanks 9:1 is perfect, i might goto a 9.8:1 one day tho, but if i decided to sell the car, id keep it at 9:1

| Senior Member 18,000rpm+ Honda F1! | my vote would be to get a b18c teg of b16a ecu which i believe is a p30 and a p72 but u can also use a po8 and a few other sohc vtec ecus but require more work to chip etc etc

| Senior Member 7,000rpm (Peak Power) | oh yea, have heard the p30 is the better one of the two aye put my fuel pump in today...and think I have a h22 plenum and t/b lined up (cheers sir-accord-t!) has anyone got an iacv and plug lying around? Edit (04/09): bought the H22 plenum, throttle body and iacv, now just need a plug to go into it, and an ecu and harness! |
