But thanks for reminding me to update this poor old thread.
The car is off the road again for a while, the camFC and turbolink and assossiated bits are removed and up for sale.
http://nzhondas.com/phpBB2/doo0tdoo0...tml?highlight=

I'm converting the car to obd1 with a P29 distributer and adapter harness and installing a P28 ecu with a hondata S300 and boost control options.
I've also got to split open my loom while I'm at it and re-wire the cooling fan circuit,. it's gay how it is at the moment with the fan on constantly the temp sits at about 45 degrees on the road at 100ks, with the fan off the temp sits up around 80 but gets a bit hot in traffic.

I plan to tidy the car up cosmetically this summer once the mechanicals are sorted, it's going to be a rice racer from hell just wait and see.

On a sohc yes but on a dohc the obd0 engines have the cam angloe sensor outside the dizzy, obd1 engines have it inside the dizzy.

I had the arvo off today so spent it on the car.

During the weekend I'd got some old obd1 plugs and got as far as preparing them for the obd0-obd1 wiring conversion but I ran out of energy today and decided to change my cams over instead.

I'm not going to buy a harness adapter, I'm going to de-pin every wire and re-pin them to the obd1 plugs. I'll just use somone else's hard work from the HT technical forums.
http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1319235&page=1

Anyway here's the pics;

Square case P28 even bolts up to two of the four PM7 case studs on the footwell firewall. One less thing to have to make.

Prepared wire ends.

Cams and camgears.
CSL cams, mugen Rally copies, pretty mild as far as cams go but a good torque increase allegedly, I guess we'll see soon enough.
The cam gears are skunkworks (pre skunk2) and I have set them to zero for the time being.

Now thats a clean running engine!

Here you can see the new exhaust cam and cam gear in place and the intake cam is still original.

Old and new cam geaars side by side,

Both cams in place.

While I was checking for TDC I decided to check the plugs to see how foul they have been running.
They look to be in great condition, I couldn't ask for better. Not bad for a hoary as hell tune.

I decided to give my spare tappet cover a go, it's been procoated red, just for the change from the HPC silver one.
Not sure if I'll stick with it or not in the long run but in the mean time it'll do.
The strut bar is also new today, it's a Z-speed one I got from G-FX, I've taken the GAB one off and put it on the EG. The Z-speed one is a lot better designed.

Hondata all wired in, no harness converter I cut and re-wired obd1 plugs on.
Fingers crossed I havn't fucked up as it's going to be very hard to trace which wire was which.
I also removed the fuel tank again and re-installed an intank pump to feed the surge tank as the external pump i was using fried it'self.
Now I have an xsi DA integra pump lifting to the surge.

Sorts out a messy conversion harness problem
I was thinking how you were saying to repin. But did you find the Pins from the OBD0 didin't fit all of the OBD1 plastic plugs?
Im guessing thats why you cut and re-wired. Cool looking ZC by the way!

Yeah the pins are totally different but I had some spare plugs leeft over from the H22 swap I just clipped off the wire about an inch out frm the plug and soldered the wires together and heat shrank over them, it looks pretty tidy i just hope i havn't fucked up as there are a few dodgy wiring guides out there and i hope the one i used was ok.
cheers.

Hey Mike did you take the headliner out of your car for the cage? Also wondering if there was any drama bolting up the Master cylinder?

8)

Nah I sliced it where the hoop goes over and it sits in tight against the padding and looks real clean.
It would be shit if I had no roof lining because of the welded up sunroof hole, it'd look like ass.

I am running the original ALB brake booster with a 15/16 master cyl out of an SiR and it all bolted up sweet as candy.

Timmi and I just drained all the fluid the other night and put on the earls braided brake lines, kindly donated by Randal (nzcivicracer) 8)
Got a mean pedal feel now.

I have the PC plugged into the Hondata as we speak (I'm sitting in the shed right now) I cant get the fucker to fire up.
I think some asshole sold me some bullshit about the distributer, I was told I could use the obd0 one if I swapped some wires around.
I've given up now and I'm about to try a OBD1 dizzy.
Problem is it's a different cap and I cant run my external coil with it.
I have a huge spark at the high tension lead, it's about 1/2" long and could knock out a bull elephant but nothing is getting through the dizzy becuase I have no spark at the plugs.

Might have to do a bit of modifying.

I think you're out of luck either way i heard a rumor it's motorsport authority cages only for passengers which seems a bit harsh.
I reckon if it's been certed for the road it should be ok for a track day.

Hah cheers. My cars up in Silverdale at the moment getting a similar style cage as yours with a few less bars but have taken out the headliner. Need to get the master cylinder sorted then I can get mine certed. Hopefully make it back home with out getting pinged.
