It was $420, a little more than I thought but at least he's reputable. He seemed to really like the car and had good things to say about the way it handled, the brakes and the supension set-up/spring rates etc. Quote:
Whatever you did certianly made a difference though, it is handling like a dream now i cant wait to fling it around Taupo. I just hope I dont fling it right off!!! Harden up about your floor. At least it's painted, mine you cant lie down on with out putting down sacks first. ![]()

Seems to do the job I just need much better pad material, it's tricky to find good pads for the legend calipers, apparently NSX ones fit but you can imagine the price of those bad boys.

Awsome day, i had such a blast. Managed to toast my LSD in the first few laps and from then on it was clunking and grinding around every left hander and making it seriously oversteer especially on the two left hand sweepers. Righthanders were a different story it went through them like there was no tomorrow and gave me a taste of what the car would be like once all the problems are ironed out. Over all for a maiden voyage it went pretty damn well, no overheating issues, oil temp stayed right down, as did the water. It got frustrating at the end of the day though, when my MSD gets hot the resistance rises and the magnetic field starts to fuck with the RPM sensor in the dizzy. It keeps tricking the computer into thinking it's redlining and it cuts the ignition. Having the ignition cut in and out on full boost is pretty violent so I couldn't really give it assholes. We had the exact same problem on the dyno and apparently Mark Scully had the same problem on his civic before he ditched his MSD. I need to magnetically shield all my electronics, or ditch the MSD. I also fried my lift pump right at the end of the day and the surge tank emptied and the main fuel pump kept taking in air. Gay because i couldn't go out on the never ending final run. And another thing, one of my brand new harnesses had already expired, the dick heads clipped the wrong date on the tag. I also couldn't take passengers because I didn't have a full cage so I have no incar footage boooo.

| Senior Member 7,000rpm (Peak Power) | Oh yeah and I forgot to mention I spun three times. Once on cold tyres a complete 360 and kept going and twice through the chicane before the front straight in exactly the same way both times. No flat spots on the R888's though luckily. Here's some pics, the missus was in charge of the camera for the day so dont blame me if you dont like them ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The car feels a lot slower when exclusively using the rear exhaust, much less throttle responce and more lag. I was gutted about that too but ah well I was just stoked to not have the car shit it'self to be honest. ![]() btw it's not blowing any blue at all now after a good thrash, I think the blue smoke it was still puffing a bit since the turbo was re-built was down to the fact that it was run in using fully synthetic 5-30 and it didn't get a chance to wear in. Seems to be run it now though ![]()

What I would do for pads is get some custom made from Race Brakes just take in the old backing plates and get some made up to suit what you need. Fairly expensive but definitely the best you can get locally.

the legend calipers bolted straight on, I'm actually using EG civic disks but I think they are 100% the same as EF7/EF3.

CA6? Nah dont quote me. yeah i'll probably end up taking the Mallory off and selling it but first i want to put the rev limit back up to 7500 and see how the car feels, at the moment I forgot it was still on 6000 when I had it at the track ops: I'm happy with my disc size for now, small discs = less unsprung weight and they seem to be doing the job I only had scary brake fade once and my Dad said he saw plumes of smoke coming off the pads as i pulled up at the end of the front straight, i was seeing how deep I could go before hitting the pics and went in a bit hot, nearly went up the ass of SIRdan's big wagon, with my inside rear wheel locked up, it was a close call 8O The fade had dissappeared by the next time I needed the brakes so it was all pretty normal. The pads in it are just cheap shit, i nearly used them all up in one day, they were squealling like a bitch (metal on metal) on my last outing. i havn't taken the wheels off to check the damage yet but I'm expecting somthing nasty.

I must say though, the Motul fluid and Ferodo pads do wonders in the Wagon no serious fade. I think the Accords brake are a decent size from factory though. I be sure to move over next time I see you coming ![]()

I dont think there's too much wrong with my brakes because thats where I seemed to be making most of my ground on people. it certainly wasn't in the corners where it should have been as the crunching diff was making things a bit of a handful. I had a ball behind the wheel of randalls EF3, once I'd got used to the totally different nature of the car.

Glad you enjoyed my EF3, your EF7 was fun once I got my confidence in it!!! Once you get those few minor issues sorted out its going to be a very quick & fun little car! 8) Better throw the dump pipe on next time, I reckon the throttle response will be awesome  Ian, your car is stupidly fast ![]()
