Again, that's an illegal modification. The theory is if you hit a pedestrian they can fall on your engine and get evern more f'd up than they already would be after being hit by your car in the first place. Stupid but true. Also, the disturbance to the airflow would more than offset any minor gains you'd make from removing your bonnet.
Seriously, weight loss in a car isn't just a simple "remove 20kg and it'll have teh m4d VTEX au" solution. While every little bit helps, you need to remove a LOT of weight to make a significant gain in performance. last time I raced at Masterton I ran a 14.2 with no seats except my own. I then put the front passenger seat back in (maybe 12-15kg) and ran a 13.9. I'm sure with the full interior I'd still run 13.9 or better.
As well as your air-con, you could also lose your sunroof, electric mirrors, stereo, spare wheel etc, and if you can lose 100kg or so from the car you'll really notice the difference. Generally changing the bonnet from stock to CF will make 2/3 of f-all difference to your times.
