How to Upload/Post Pictures on NZHondas.com

I see alot of threads where people have no idea at all, of how to upload or post pictures on the NZhondas.com Forums. So its a quiet day at work
and thought i would help out

There are numerous ways it can be done, however i will outline a couple.

1 - Uploading a picture into your Album section of your NZH profile

2 - Uploading a picture using an External Imagehost

3 - Attaching a picture straight from your computer

Step #1 - Once logged into your NZH account, on the top right hand corner you will see a "My Profile" Link. Click this!

Step #2 - Bottom left of the screen, find the "Albums" box and click on "More"

Step #3 - Right hand side of screen you want to click on "Create New Album"

Step #4 - Here you want to give your album a name & if need be give a description & ALSO decide either Private or Public viewing of that album. If it is private, anyone who is not your friend on NZH or a moderator can not see it. (Dont make a album private if your linking to a FS: thread! Duh)

Step #5 - Once your album is created you then want to click on "Upload pictures"

Step #6 - The File Upload Manager will appear. You want to click "Add Files", then "Browse..." to locate your picture on your computer. Then "Upload"

Step #7 - Once thats done, you need to select the uploaded picture in the bottom section of the pop up window and hit done to close the pop up window. Your picture is now uploaded to your album. You need to hit save changes in the bottom left of the screen below

Final Step - Click on your photo, and down the bottom left there will be a couple link tags. Copy the BB Code and PASTE into your thread. DONE!!


Someone else can do the External Image provider help haha.

Uploading a picture using an External Image Host

First find an external Imagehost of your choice, be mindful some require you to signup first to be able to do much. A list can be found here

We will be using iforce.co.nz which is by far the easiest at the moment

Step #1 - Go to www.iforce.co.nz

Step #2 - Select "Browse" to find your picture/s on your computer

Step #3 - Click on "Upload"

Step #4 - Congratulations you just uploaded a picture.

Final Step - Now copy the direct link URL into your thread surrounded by [IMG] [/IMG] Tags, or click the wee picture in your reply box on the forums and copy it in there.

Attaching a picture straight from your computer

Step #1 - - Start your new thread or reply to a thread using the "Reply to Thread" button or "Quote" button then, "Go Advanced" to access all the options.

Step #2 - At the bottom of the page under the box where you would type your reply, is a box called "Additional Options". In there is the "Manage Attachments" button, click that.

Step #3 - Up pops a new window called "Manage Attachments". At the top on the right hand side is the "Add Files" button, click that.

Step #4 - In the new box that appears click the "Browse" button

Step #5 - The "File Upload" box will pop up. From here you can find the file you wish to upload from your computer, select it, then click "Open"

Step #6 - You will be take back to the previous view, but the location of your image now shows in the box. If you wish to upload more images click the "+" button then repeat steps 4 and 5. If you have finished click "upload"

Step #7 - It may take a few moments to upload your file/s. Then thumbnails of your uploaded files will appear down the bottom of the "Manage Attachments" box. Ensure all the images you want to add to your post have a little blue tick in the bottom right corner of them. Then click the "Insert Inline" button on the bottom right corner of the window.

Step #8 - Your image/s will now appear in the body of your post inside square brackets like this. [ATTACH=CONFIG]xxxxx[/ATTACH]
Do not modify the brackets in any way as you may loose your image from your post. You can move it to where you like in your post. Click "Submit New Thread" or "Submit Reply"

Final Step - Your post will now show with your attachment in it like this. You are now done!!

Just as a note:

Do not use IMGUR or TINYPIC to host/post photos.

It doesn't work...

If you want to attach an image from another site i.e. Facebook

with facebook you have to have the image all the way open so you can see the comments on the side/bottom. not off your wall

Right click on the picture
In Firefox, select "Copy Image Location" not link location
In internet Explorer, select "Properties", then Copy the "Address ( URL )"

This ensure you have the direct link to the image, including the file extension which you need to have when putting the image tags around it.

Now paste the direct link URL into your thread surrounded by [IMG] [/IMG] Tags, or click the wee picture in your reply box on the forums and paste it in there.

Well i have tried two different ways to download photos as described in this post time and time again, with no luck, when i open files they do not appear in the box like they are meant to, is it anything to do with my membership level or is there something else not right?

how big are they? if you resize them to a reasonable size, ie 1200x800 and less than 500kb in size you shouldnt have any issues
