Geezus! aint this thing still got a full front chassis. Pics + vids man! congrats
Yea it's definitely got a 9 in it, still got a little bit of boost up my sleeve and it was hard on the rev limit in 4th through the traps. still completly street legal over here and driven 70-100kms a week.
can't really compare it too ronnies car and i honestly don't think it would do these times in nz. on a unprepped track over here it will do a 10.4 so thats probably comparable to nz tracks!
have got a vid of the run so i'll put a link to it when i put it up!

Very very nice work, and you still have to run the time to run the time - as it were. Ronnie raced a couple of meets in Oz not long before retiring and never got it fully together, these times are a fair bit more impressive IMHO. So again, my hat is off for you for both your driving and your seup!
What have you changed to get it this quick?

its been very reliable, the car has done almost 60000kms since i turbo'd it, 35000 of that was on the stock sleeve motor and the other 25000 on the current sleeved motor. the current engine wore out an exhaust cam when i first brought it over to australia, but that was down to a poor choice of oil over here no fault of the engine, i bought another set of type r cams and changed to a different oil and have had no more issues. and i have broken one final drive in the gearbox about 18months ago. other than that there has been no mechanical issues with it whatsoever.
i've been pretty lucky really!

Holy shit, standard box and axles hold that sort of abuse. Very impressive.

GREAT WORK Bruce!!
Amazing time for a legal FWD streetcar. All the best for that 9.xxx pass!
Amazing stuff! What fuel and boost? Thanks for being so forthcoming with the mods, its clearly a very effective combination and not actually typical of a NZ build. Look forward to hearing about this cutting a 9 soon![]()

He's based in Australia now mate
Definitly! To be honest i havent ever seen pics of this car, or a writeup or anything. And its UP there as one of the fastest fwd hondas in NZ let alone street cars.
I seen small pic in nzpc issues back, but hardly big enough to have a goodlook
I'm sure I've read an article on this car in the past years, though regardless a key point is its not in NZ - its in Australia.
Still one of my favourite Hondas, and I loved winding up anti-Honda people up about it when it WAS here haha.
Was in Fast fours & Rotaries June 2011 Issue

I did consider going to E85 but i would need to redo the fuel lines and the single intank pump wouldn't be up to the task. I'm still on the fence with E85 as we run it in the race cars at work (V8 supercars) and while it's fine in them it corrodes some parts in older street car fuel systems. it's a lot cheaper than buying c16 but for the amount that my car consumes it's hardly a big cost, for the whole jamboree weekend just been i used 9 liters of fuel.
As far as a photoshoot of it the article that was scanned up was the last time it was done, and it was in performance car magazine 7 or 8 years ago. i believe the photos from the last shoot over here were going to be sent to performance car mag if they wanted to do another feature on it but i never heard anything!
thanks for all encouraging comments in regards to the car! it means a lot!
cheers bruce
