    Race Slick purchasing

Can someone put me in the right direction in regards to who does the best deals / most helpful when it comes to buying race slicks.

Am looking for something in Kumho / Hankook range as i believe they have the sharpest pricing compared to the likes of Dunlop / Michelin. And yea only looking for something a little better than what im using now (r888's).

Thanks, have tryed Firestone / Beaurepaires in Palmerston North but no luck

Full slicks will be MILES better than R888s. After driving on slicks for a while going back to semi slicks can catch you out if you're not careful...

Go out on a limb and buy new, they'll last for ages on your EF (assuming that's what they're for?) and you'll never, ever be sorry you made the step up. A huge confidence boost with the amount of grip offered as opposed to semi slicks, in my car I have yet to find the limit of grip (Hankook 215/615/17), apart from when they're cold >_<

The real question will be whether or not there are any in stock or if you'll need to wait to get them in. Takes a bit of time but so, so worth it.

Best deal i found was Blairs imports. Gone with a full set of kumho's be interesting to see how they compare to R888's as they actually work out to be same price . Hopefully drop my lap times down

sorry to thread hijack.. Has anyone had any experience with the hankook Z214 semi's. They look like a full slick with 2 lines cut into the tread, and apparently still dot approved?

the z214 is a race tyre developed for the US spec race market . It is DOT certified but not a road legal tyre .
The case is the same construction as the f200 slick . The sizing is std metric as opposed to the slick sizing which is height/width /rim dia . The 2 radial groves are there for USA compliance reason and it is very difficult to tell any difference between a f200 slick and a z214 in the same size and compound [the z214 is available in the same 3 compounds as the f200]
It is unlikley that the z214 will be sold commercially in NZ as it is not a DOT road legal tyre so is effectively a slick and these are already available in a range of sizes and compounds .
