    Racing digital dash displays

Anybody have any decent experience with any of these, would just like to know what you think if you have used them or know of someone that has used them.

These are the setups I have been looking at so far for my race car not sure what to go for really.

    Any input much appreciated.

Whats your budget and what are you wanting to achieve from the system? Datalogg of the car including peak values or what? You can get cheap systems that will give you a variety of info which might be enough for you or the sky's nearly the limit with some of the systems and the wealth of data you can get to help improve and monitor the car and improve your driving etc.

The possibilities are close to endless!

What sort of events are you doing? Circuit?

Mostly circuit, sprints, and heill climbs with this car, if possible I would like to use it between two of my cars.

as for budget I have been looking at about 1500 NZD, not so much recording as I want less gauges and more a light to tell me if something is wrong. I know to observe it all I would sped quite a bit on gauges, so a guess recording data at this stage would be a bonus.

PS: if I do use this in two cars the other would be my rally car.

    Re: Racing digital dash displays

I want all the information in one place and I want it to tell me if something has gone out of perimeters, and if it records any data I would take that as a bonus as I would probably make more use out of that the more I use and get used to the car/cars.

    Re: Racing digital dash displays

I run an Aim Strada, awesome piece of kit and so light, small and compact.

    Mainly used for

Rev counter graph (like an S2000 dash)
    Rev warning lights (graduated LEDS)
    Water temp (digital read-out)
2 seperate warning LEDs for oil and temp
    And lap times only occasionally.

In real world usage the warning leds are too small while racing and with my steering wheel position quite low you need take your eyes well of the road to read it all.

I have installed an auxilary led light (truck trailer brake light) for the oil pressurre switch at the base of the windscreen.

I plan too change the mounting so the whole unit sits above the steering wheel but still below the base of the windscreen

I'd be keen on the RD1, it's fuel gauge compatibility would mean the cluster can go for good!

It's also configurable, so you can basically configure EXACTLY how you want the layout to look like. It uses the stock Honda ECU to gather the data for display. This makes it a nice piece of plug and play kit.
