Puncture repair on Dunlop 03G race tyre?

I have a puncture in one of my race tyres. Screw, in the middle of the tread.

Is it acceptable practice to have puctures repaired on a race tyre?

guy at work here with 30 years of rally and race experience says that every time they got a puncture they swapped the tyres.

if was on the track thrashing the shit out of my tyres, id feel alot better and
confident knowing i swapped my repaired tyre for a new one.

if i had the dosh i would replace it.

    FYI.
Called Glenn at Dunlop NZ. He the NZ rep for motorsport tyres. He said if repaired correctly (mushroom bung), and not close to the tyre edge (forgot how close he said), its perfectly fine to fix the pucture.

yup, repair is a vulcanisation and will handle it no problem....not at all dodgey.

Id do it, end of the day if repair fails the tyre will not blow out, it will slowly deflate so you would notice that quickly in a race situation.

If you shit money then replacing is always better than repair but how many of us shit money? 03G's are overpriced as it is!
