Think I'll be leaving it in for the moment anyway, Car will be going through a cert at some point and it seems car could fail on a rack like that.

Yeh agreed haha
Well, Kane (nva2nd) and leisa (hbcargurl) came around tonight and helped (well kane did) me take the engine out. Just got to get sorted now and buy the rest of the parts I need.
Will give the engine bay a good cleanout, and assess how it looks, If it needs, It will be getting repainted.
Steering rack will be removed and new boots put on and it will be cleaned up (theres a bit of cv grease in the bay from when cv boots split). Axles have been painted, cv cups have been cleaned and painted, as with the inner cv bearings. new outer cvs will be coming within the next few weeks.
Gearbox will be seperated from engine tomorrow, still deciding wether or not I will pull it apart and clean it and replace input shaft bearing, and check synchros and gears for wear. Casing will be pulled apart thats for sure and will be thoroughly cleaned and painted to match the engine.
Going to try get my hands on a S2000 clutch master cylinder, and a new slave cylinder too.
Will get pics of the engine bay tomorrow.

Filled the gearbox and cambelt side mounts at work today with silicon, just got home from work, took the rear mount out, one of the bits had completely torn, and the other wasnt far away (This would explain the shudder I had when on/off throttle). So will decide what to do with that at some point, Wether I replace it or just fill it with silicon - your thoughts?
Got a 5 day weekend now (Got friday and tuesday off w00t) so will hopefully get quite a bit of progress done.

Nolathane it bro, make sure you get it slotted though haha
What do you mean by slotted?

slotted bush - so that its not a solid mount![]()

Lots of pics
Hopefully today I'll get my p/s hard line and clutch hard line sorted, Going to make some new ones so that their hidden more nicely.
Took bonnet latch out, cleaned it up - looks mint now. Took abs motor bracket off, will clean it up, give it a quick scratch and a coat of paint. Polished my cambelt side engine mount at work yesterday too, Just got to give it a bit more polishing and itll get a coat of clear so it stays that way.
Also going to take steering rack out, Clean it up and put new boots on it (it was marked on my last wof sheet that they would need replacing soon). While the rack is out I'll be cleaning the front subframe too. Might look into getting an itr front swaybar or an aftermarket item.
Job for after lunch is to start cleaning the radiator support up, drill off all the plates (vin tag, build date tag etc etc) so it can be cleaned properly, then put back on afterwards.
nva2nd (kane) has also informed me of a few things that I don't need ("charcoal can", lower gearbox bracket, a/c backing bracket etc etc) so should shed a few kg's from all that stuff.
Last night I managed to get the gearbox off the motor and remove the clutch. Lots of work ahead to make that gearbox look as good as the motor does! Will be getting a new clutch disc, and possibly getting my pressure plate uprated too.
And as the car stands right now

sweet work man getting real stuck into it arent ya!!![]()
I had cracked mounts like that on my old car, got windscreen sealant stuff in a tube from supercheap, filled them entirely with that and volia perfect solid mounts, and the windscreen sealent is reasonably flexible so it didnt feel very harsh at all, stiffer than stock for sure, and made a good difference in traction! but didnt make your teeth rumble :p haha

I've used sabre bond SMP60. Got it from work, we used to use sika, and bostik, but have changed to sabre as it seems better.
zombo - yeah thats what I've done to all my mounts. Hopefully should do the job well

What do you use to "clear" the polished metal? I need something for my wheels but dont think normal clear coat will stick
You can be anything you like on the internet, so why do so many people choose to be stupid?
Ive just been using a clearcoat we have at work, its just a spray clear. Seems to be working well enough for the time being
And cheers todd, but these mounts are just silicon filledWill see how they go first

good stuff Craig. should have it going again in no time!!
cleaning the engine bay makes it look so much better
Cheers manYeah hoping so!
Finished cleaning the engine bay, Fitted new clutch line, Mounted the soft clutch line in place. Just got to get another piece of copper pipe to make a new power steering line. The original one went over the top of the cambelt side mount, new one will go underneath the chassis rail, Just as the clutch line does.

Keeping Air con ?? if not you should get a blanking grommet for the firewall...I think its an OEM part and there might be a thread around somewhere with the part number.
*edit* got it, no part number but they exist
http://nzhondas.com/forum/sponsor-pr...oem-parts.html
Of course if you are keeping it then disregard![]()
Not keeping aircon, but cant be arsed taking out the dash to remove that bit right now. Maybe sometime in the future though
Daily Driven.
will you paint the copper lines to match other lines? they stand out quite a bit.
Yeah most likely, Their just in there so I knew they would fit.
Finished extending drivers side loom, just got to scratch off a bit of paint, and bolt the earths and relay pack back on. Got to say its looking much better without that loom in sight!
