yea cant really beat that post.. I was trying to get frequent updates and abit of a howto guides with using a router and what bits etc do for the sounds install something like the dash pictures.

BUT it all turned out stink... Welder didnt show up again I really wanted to start mission impossible with the engine bay. I tell you its going to be a struggle.. I dont know how hayce has lasted so long , yea he moans some of the time only because its frustrating as hell.

Anyways with my days off work nothing really got achieved. I cleaned the garage did abit of CAD work and more parts arrived but im still awaiting the hondata.

so lets start off a mini update, opinions please

Since I thought id give CAD ago for both those rockford fosgate logo's I came to the agreement that CAD is fucken cool The only limitations are your knowledge and imagination. With this in mind I wanted to create something with abit of design for the doors. Yea sure I could mold some fiberglass pods but nothing special so I have set out working and changing dimensions over and over to give you this:

Ive been getting samples of electroluminescent tape/panels and wire to play with, also honeycomb mesh, lamination panels to plexiglass (oh yes, can do plexiglass work with router) and different paint samples.

I know its abit OTT but I wanted the interior abit special, what do you guys think? not much to look at now but hopefully you'll get the point. I think its my last drawing and then I'll go get it cut next week. Everything dimenion is to scale, im not showing all the dimensions in this picture. Once I get those, I'll go through the router tips and tricks and post those up.

On another note. All parts have finally arrived for the engine... Now I'll be honest with you.. its getting very expensive and I only have around $2600 to build this engine at this moment but want it done!

I spoke to evan from speedfactor on the phone for 15 minutes trying to get a quote out of him. He said he charges roughly $2400 to build a b18c engine.. alittle cheaper for me though because its a sohc I also explained the gearbox to him which I dont know if he included that in the price so could it be running past the $3000 mark?

I trust evan with my engine but I dont know if thats really a high price.

You all know now the parts I have, and on top of that I want the engine and gearbox powder coated or even painted. So with all the parts installed, dissasimble the engine, hot tank, send to powder coater, balance crackshaft, notch block, bore cylinders, hone cylinders, mill/deck, port and polish head.. what am I to do, do I really have to wait longer and save abit more $$$

I heard GER is good, I should really give them a call.. who else, any experiences?

so yea, Im a n00b.. I dont have a vast knowledge of cars but I love learning new techniques and really wanted to work and learn by doing it myself rather than just pay .. its abit of me in the car

    oh yea.. some more parts

without the welder I was wondering what I could do... I grinded the bolts off the firewall, just wondering what is that bracket circled in red.. I dont remember removing anything off there.

I also took the CAD design for the doors to the CNC shop.. hopefully I'll have them soon and can then modify those jigs for a 3d look.

Ive talked to evan from speedfactor and hes writing up a quote for me now.. just have to visit GER tomorrow and see what they charge.

Pic of hondata board.. notice the kiwi stamped on the pcb .. I thought that was cool
