    My NA build.

Thought I'd post up a little bit about my current engine and get some feedback/comments about it. Just started my apperenticship as a mechanic/ engine builder at Taylor Automotive 4 months ago so I'm still learning as I go

Bought a b16b bottom end for cheap a year ago (cheers Julian) and figured I might aswell stroke it.

    Currently my setup is:
    b16b Block
    b16a Sump and Pickup
    b16b Pistons
    b18c Crankshaft (Cheers Colin)
    b18c Connecting Rods
    Grant Piston Rings
    ACL Shell Bearings

    b16a2 Head
    Blox Tuner B camshafts
    Blox Double Valve Springs
    Blox Valve Titanium Retainers
    JG Engine Dynamics Cam Gears
    Jtune Rocker Cover

    old pics

    newer

will take some more pics tomorrow. Should be completed in a few days

good to hear your at Taylors, some very intelligent people there. another in the trade is always a good thing. is Brent (i think it was him?) still there? he used to do all the engine balancing. cool guy

as for the engine, i can never understand why people decide to stroke. overboring/sleeving is a much better option for increasing displacement. but im guessing you have your reasons.

personally i dont like the ACL Rod Bearings, never got the same clearances that you get with OEM. Their mains are good tho.

    good on you tho.

no brent but theres a brett that works in the head bay.

all the crank journals were standard size so just went with standard acl's.

might be him. was a while ago (1-2 years or so). pretty cool guy to talk to knew more than most people about engine harmonics.

did you end up selling the B16b crank? saw it on trademe awhile ago.

*EDIT* guess not, seeing its still on trademe....if it doesnt sell i could be interested in it after new years...could be good for a spare engine...

Looks like an awesome setup mate, best of luck with it.

Just be extra extra careful with the setup... I've had 2 mates whos aftermarket cam setup ended up with a blown up motor. And one of them had it happen twice Valves being the weak point both times....
