Yeah stainless is fine as long as it's done right, the manifold will be steam pipe with the flanges being mild steel.

The downpipe is the first thing people will notice when the bonnet is open so it's gotta be bling blang word jdm etc etc..

I will probably get the manifold coated so it doesn't look like poos.

It was also cheap and easy to get too (trademe)

Not gunna have the car ready till next season. I could've got it going but rushing isn't my strong point and something was bound to go terribly wrong.

    Anyway, start collecting parts now:

    Cheers Ian

I might get onto machining my spool tomorrow (gotta make sure I dodge the boss) and if I remember my camera I might take photos of the machining process.

Thanks to Uncle Frank the EF is looking more like a bruised banana (yellow + black on the outside, white on the inside).

Car has no interior, gearbox, head (bottom end still in there), wiring etc etc so this pic goes to show just how much the weight of all that shit effects the standard EF suspension..

Haven't got around to my spool, been too hungry at lunch to bother working on it but I began ripping down my engine:

Specs haven't been decided on yet but I have a fair idea of what power level I want to make and that number is secret until it happens 8)

    Looking into suspension now.

When I get the thing sacked out again I'd like to mount them on the wheels and see how it looks but it's going to be sitting on grass for another year so I'll just leave them nice and dry and clean in the car itself.

They are a much better offset then the RX7 rims that were on there and they don't rub so its easier to move for mowing the lawns, also my cat pisses everywhere so I had to wrap them up in plastic too

If it's on semi slicks it'll lay two fat strips of rubber down the straight then on the picks for the corner which will be fun considering it'll be spooled (locked diff basically) and then once again it'll smoke the bags through 2nd, 3rd and most likely 4th gear.

I was actually thinking when I was at your track day if you organise one again in the future to bring this thing along and see how well it went

CRX is going to be the corner weapon.

    Wee update.

The diff has fucked out in my CRX so during my very half assed attempt yesterday to get it out I accidentally made a part for the Civic.

Trying to get the nut off was proving difficult with the rubber mallet, so out came the 5ft length of 3/4" chromoly tubing

    Which bent...

But then I had a crazy idea! Bend the other side the same

Then it can serve as my bonnet support, hold up my headlight blanks, radiator and other things

Hahhah, the above picture had the same filename as another pic on the server so I went to look at it and it's a massive rooster standing on a chair, awesome (take the a out)

I mocked up a turbo mount to make my exhaust manifold but that was on the smaller B16A block so I will have to make up some dowels to fit the VTEC head to the LS block and fit back in the car to get the turbo in the right spot.

Anyway thats it for this shit update, tune in in a few weeks time for another shit one
