hey man 122kw on 6psi on a t25 aint that bad really !
extra 4psi is a big difference , but man id upgrade that external gate ! i had nothing but problems with my cheapy external inconsistant boost levels
one day running 10psi nicely next day wondering why car seemed faster .......15psi
plus them bleed taps dont work very well they do tend to drop off .
why did you have a tap on if you got a external gate ? are you only running a 4psi spring or something?
also with that egc vavle when tuning it , wont your tune be all messed up if you tune it for open and try run when its closed ??
cause since your not changing your boost level or kpa intake reading on map sensor you dont go into a new row on your ECU
wouldnt the only way to make it work properly to have a electronic switchable boost controller that flicks on when you open EGC vavle alowing to be tuned in the new row (since kpa is up)
this way you can boost all day all good (tuned+closed egc)
and when you open your EGC and flick your boost controller your tuned for that aswell since its at a different level .
im talking in LINK terms but camfc whatever you got should wotk in similar way
it was a 5.6psi spring, i have just ordered a 12psi one though so soon the bleed tap will be out the window.Originally Posted by miketurb0honda
I agree with what you are saying about the valve open and closed needing a different tune for both , my initial idea was to tun efor the gate open so that it wouldn't be leaning out when the gate wa sclosed.
The way they have done it seems fucked up as it's going to be tuned for the gate closed and then lean out when the gate opens.
Not smart but hey I'm no tuner i just put it together.
damn you Mike the suspense is killing me, this is the message I get when I try to view.
The video you have requested is not available.
If you have recently uploaded this video, you may need to wait a few minutes for the video to process.
I hope the 12 P.S.I spring fixes the boost problem, lookin forward to good results.
Ha ha, sorry about that, the vid is shit anyway it's just a boring dyno run, I wasn't allowed up close because of OSH so you cant see shit really.Originally Posted by Glassjaw
I just drove it down to see badcf4 and on the way home I gave it a boot in first (not a dropped clutch just an ease into the throttle) when boost came on it just lit up both front wheels and went apeshit all over the road.I think it's the torque coupled with the low diff more than the horsepower.
It's got me worried about what a 12psi spring could do though!
I drove past a cop too which got me thinking i need to stay out of the drivers seat until it's at least road legal.ops:
hahaha i know exactly how u fell.
i had my da6 turbo pink stickerd 3h after been tuned the first time. for a cracked mainfold.
any ways i had to drive it around a bit to get work dun, retuned and a certed, was quite nerv racking driving past cops, even know i was doing somthink ligit, they could still be diks about it. witch they always seem to be. far and few between many who are actually nice to a young guy in a modfyed car.
they all think ur gunna dump oil and do skids
hahaha

Ive just been reading through this, and its helped me alot. I have kinda been thinking about force induction on my D series engine, and this cleared up a few questions. I still have some researching and some saving to do... $$$.
When, or if the time comes, you wouldnt mind if I shoot you a PM with a few questions would you?
BTW, car looks awesome. Good work man!
^^ Sweet as, cheers.
Hey mate, another option instead of buying a T28 or TD05 (plus having to change the flange) is to fit a compressor wheel and cover from a T25G which is from early sr20det's.
The a/r on a standard t25 is 0.48 (from memory) but the T25G is 0.80 (bigger comp wheel/cover). Basicly you can bolt these onto you existing turbo and have much better top end/boost won't drop off.
I have one if you are interested. It needs a rebuild though as the seals were getting smokey. But as you say, you are planning to rebuild anyway.
Let me know if you are interested, don't want much for it really (have changed to a T3/4 setup).
ps. very nice build 8)

Ok well its been a while since I've done anything but now it's at performance metalworx in Silverdale getting a cage put in it.
I'm going for a half cage with a few extra bars to stiffen it all up.
It should be ready mid next week and then I'll have to get serious about getting it all sorted and ready for the certifier.
(which means temporarily ditching the dump system  )
I need to get the rice lights (and no I'm not ditching them i like them) aligned and working properly and build proper brackets to hold the front bumper. The part which originally took the bracket has now been removed for the intercooler. And that reminds me, the intercooler need bracketing too, either that or I'll get a new one.
The turbo has got really bad and is starting to smoke heavily so I'm having that re-built after next week, there is no way in hell I'll make the Superlap which would have been a good debut but never mind, Taupo is coming up soon.
Bring on next week I cant wait to see it all caged out.
looking good dude should look wicked with that cage in! you'll feel invincible when you're driving it![]()

$1506 all up.
I will get pics up as soon as possible.
OK I finally picked it up this morning, final price was $1506, $1200 for the cage, the rest for the rust repair.
I must say it looks really good i am very happy with the final result and the workmanship is impressive. It's good to see somone who's proud of their work and take time to do an excellent job.
I very highly regard these guys, top effort, top result.
As you can probably tell i'm pretty pleased!![]()
Here's the pics anyway,

Awesome dude, it certainly looks the part in there

Looking good is it chromololy?
Are you going to be removing that rear strut brace - looks like it's kind of redundant now?![]()

I'll flat black it soon and it has to be wrapped and padded up. Maybe tomorrows job, there's quite a bit to do, re-routing fuel and brake lines around the bars etc. They had to displace them to allow for the bars and plates etc to be welded in.
ha ha yeah it sure is. I'll probably just leave it on though, matches the front brace and certainly wont do any harm.Originally Posted by garg
Ive never been a fan of CRX's.. But this one is awesome. You've done a great job on it. Did you get the performance side of things sorted out?
Oh wow....
Speechless. 8O
Thanks dude!, believe it or not I was never a fan of crx's either before I built this one!Originally Posted by Ped Rac3r
Not yet, still only running 5 psi but it's got a shit load of balls on the road, seriously it's the fastest thing I've ever driven thats for sure.
I've been recommended by link to go to Hytech in Pukekohe, I'm going to reinstall the link and use it for boost control.
For now i just have to tidy it up and get myself a cert and wof.
Oh and thanks for the comment too Haydz!
awww, looks sex mate![]()
theres a bit of a meet taking place at the shop tomorrow so your welcome to bring it down for a perv
Im sure you'll get away with taking the 100 metre dash without your wof/cert![]()
Ha ha I'll have to get up early and put it back together then, what time is the meet?Originally Posted by badcf4
