    Make sure u have alot of PATIENTS!!

    I think in the tutorial they might be using gloss, cant remember. But I chose to use a nice matt black just because i didn't want the housing to look shiny.

    Nope normal black is fine, because your only painting the exterior of the headlight housing and not the reflective bit.. not sure of the actual terms but when u open it up you'l see what I mean.

    also, before u go ahead.. make sure u have a big enough oven lol

    I've done it using heat-gun. Possibly harder than using an oven. Definitly need patience and it doesn't hurt to have a spare pair of hands either to help pry it apart.

    @R8edM
    Were the headlights that were on it not CTR ones? Or did you just want the surround to be even darker?

    Yep heard u heat gun is possible, but look how cool a headlight looks in a oven

    Yep I think they were CTR ones, can't see why they wouldn't be unless some previous owner replaced them. But yep, wanted them darker.

    I thought non-FL lights didn't have the black housing? but the FL CTR's did?

    I think his CTR has maybe had the lights swapped out due to a crash and the person who got them didn't realise they were different. All speculation though... As Geoff is right, should be black in the first place?

    Possibly, although my housing wasnt the usual chrome. They were bit darker, but not black, almost as if the chrome got really burnt by the sun or something. I didnt think much of it I just thought it might be due to the age or something. Ill try n hunt down a pic.

    Yeah the CTR headlights were more gun metal gray whereas the ITR was black. That silver CTR needs to polish his headlights, they look like crap.

    Yep, they call it "shadow chrome" from memory. Sounds like they were genuine.

    I preferred the stock wheels - love the white/red theme on Type Rs. But to each his own.

    They were going to be used for the Wellington hard park. I quite like them, but sadly didn't fit because the slicks where to big and ended up rubbing quite bad. NOTE: I think those mags are for sale - Contact c0nc0n. (dc5 mags)
