    Re: Rob's EF9 Project

    lulz, trollers gon troll.

    Update.

Wasn't sure if i should keep going with the EF9, thought about selling it and buying a slightly newer honda, but alot of people regret selling there EF9 so i thought fuck it, i'll keep going for the rest of the year with this car.

Decided im going to take the engine out of the Civic.

Will then fully degrease the engine bay the respray it black and tidy a few things up etc.

While the engine is out i will be:

Giving the engine a degrease and scrub down.
    Replace Vtec solenoid gasket.
Remove gearbox and replace the clutch.
Fit my baffled sump with new sump gasket aswell.
Fit B16a2 intake manifold, thermal intake gasket and throttle body.
Move the battery to the boot.
    Polish up the header
    Bit of a wire tuck.
Strip and repaint the valve cover. Will be standard wringle black.
    Replacing all fluids of course
    Flush the radiator again.
Any other maintenance that needs doing, CV boots etc etc.

Also pondering whether to remove ABS/ALB..... thoughts?

Need to get new tires aswell. 195/45/15. Want good street tire which will see the track everynow and then and nimm etc. Any thoughts on brand etc.

Going to sort out an intake one day soon aswell.

Looking at purchasing a fixed back drivers seat as the Fishnets don't hold very well on the track but thats no biggie at the moment. Will do everything else first.

Will be attending the Auckland meet on Thursday night, gave the car a clean and polish. Returned all the trims to black etc.

Have been really slack with photos, will be getting some up before the end of the week.

    Cheers

If the ALB is removed, it needs to be certified. You have to have a sticker on the dash stating that the ABS has been removed as well.
    efsi: What's wrong with a 4AGE? They're good engines
spooner: They have a flat spot from 0 to 8000rpm.

If you're making power similar to stock, the OE replacement clutches are good and well up to the task. Other than that, I think Exedy do a heavy duty clutch with up-rated pressure plate that could be an option.

    Re: Rob's EF9 Project

    Cheers for the input guys,

Will start looking into clutch options, will be going for heavy duty. Something like Kane's clutch maybe i dunno yet.
Not wanting a 4 puk brass button/noisey twin plate shit haha. Will be way too hard on the gearbox.

Have started saving for all the parts i need and the consumables for the engine bay tidy up.
