Re: Rob's DC2 F2B tidy up. Engine mounts????

Haha yeah I tried to fit new strut brace on my eg h2b and nope its miles off. Nothing will fit.

The radiator hoses you need are a standard dc2 one for the lower hose and a nissan primera/pulsar sr20/sr18 top hose. Then they will both be sweet as without any kinks.

And yeah that black box under intake manifold is vac box for secondaries. Just pull it out since your not running them.

Also I see the old owner has used crappy sealant when removing secondaries. Not a big fan of that shit on the intake of an engine as it can go through then engine and cause problems. Unlikely but can happen. Id pull the top of and scrape that shit off and chuck a new gasket in there. Even a 2nd hand one from pickapart if you can get one apart there easy. Normally you only brake one of the 2 gaskets that are on the intakes I know forum user nva2nd has 2 of the gaskets new in a gasket kit that I sold him with my old car he might want to sell

Matt: I might be selling it or i'll just hang on to it for a rainy day.

Haden: Yeah i noticed most people with h2b aren't running them, i thought i would just try my chances. Thanks for the info about hoses and vacuum box.
Yeah i hate sealant, it looks shitty aswell. Will be fixing all these issues when the engine comes out.

Cheers Craig, i may get in touch.

    Re: Rob's DC2 F2B tidy up. Update

    Yo,

    So who remembers these??

I originally bought them for the EF9,

I got them repaired in November last year. Painted them in the weekend.

Most of the black paint gone. Came off real easy due to the previous owner just spray bombed them with a can of paint.

The rim has been repaired very well (by a shop in Cambridge) was abit worried, got the dude to spin them up and they balanced out well.

Paint table setup, painting commenced inside a garden shed.

    Heres how they came out...

Over the last few weeks i have been gathering bit and pieces.

Another valve cover to paint. Color undecided, recommendations??

Gearbox and cambelt side engine mounts to fill with Sikaflex - Nearly bought innovative engine mounts but i decided to spend money elsewhere for the time being, will be purchasing innovative later in the year. Yet to purchase a rear mount. Anyone have one lying around??

D2 LCAs i got for a nice price. Will be replacing the bushes.

Skunk2 battery clamp was included with the LCAs

    Installed:

    Honda badges:

Left headlight plug was broken, found replacements at pick a part with nice bulbs:

    New plug soldered on:

Cleaned the new bulbs with meths and installed them, nice white light

Alloy Toser wheelnuts, pretty much brandnew, where only used once.

I wanted decent sound setup in the car, a mate had a nice Pioneer headunit and Kicker component setup for a great price.

Old setup, looks like there were tweeters installed at one stage, Must be why the wing mirror covers were hacked up. (see above)

    New:

Installed the crossovers inside the door card. Held down with automotive foam dual sided tape:

    Plastic cut away for wires:

Tweeters mounted flush in the door card:

System sounds great! Plug my iPhone in via USB and hit play. Great result.

    More updates Coming very soon.

Was thinking were they my old ones.

Rob all the H22a parts you want don't need be "H22a" they can be any H/F series obd1 etc.

The covers are on that black prelude at pickapart I got the bolts off it for my cover so you only need remove pulley get them off.

Also I may have the pressure thingy will have look.

Yes the light bulbs are excellent.

Only some F series dizzys will fit.
    H22A/F20B rocker will fit.
Would be awesome if you had an oil pressure sensor dude.

PrivateRyan: Thanks for your help. I shall repay you when we work on your car.

    Re: Rob's DC2 F2B tidy up. Update

    Update:

A package arrived on Monday night.....

That's right, 3 Autometer gauges. Oil temp, Oil pressure and Water temp. Also a sandwich plate, cheers Brent.
I will be installing them when the engine comes out etc. Will be redoing all the wires and cover wires in sleeving to tidy them up.

    Picked this up yesterday....

98 Spec ITR Box. only 77,000kms on it. This will painted alloy silver in the next week or two.

I swapped out my DC2 Cluster for a 98 spec cluster and found that the Gas gauge didn't work. I did some research, the green films on the back need to be swapped. I will be taking them apart to swap the light bezels aswell so i don't have the ABS/SRS showing in the ITR cluster.

The car as it is currently:

The dodgy fuel return line..... This will be fixed with anew line when the engine comes out.

When i was at pick a part the other day i came across the leather gearshift boot in a limited edition EG4. It was factory yellow, yellow front and rear seats, yellow mudflaps. Weird.
I bought the gearshift boot and installed it into my car. Will make up an alloy cap to slip onto the gearstick and keep the boot centered looking nice.

More pics of the P1s, tires are being wrapped on, on Saturday.

Here's a picture of the headunit, need to find a nice black surround to cover the mounting sleeve. I am loving the iPod connectivity, controlling it from the headunit is the business.

Tweeters look so much better flush in the door card. Thanks to craig for the idea.

Sorry for the shocking photos. As some of you know my nice camera got stolen
    More updates coming soon.

Behind your drivers side rear tyre, is that a huge dent or just an optical illusion? Looks good though man gonna bring it up to Auckland on Tuesday?

Fuel return hose is like that for a reason my friend, often the same way as the normal fuel line is done to

I did my return line like that, looks dodge, but really people there's actual pressure on that hose but there's not. As long as its tight it's perfectly safe

Hmm will catch up with ya soon Craig.

The fuel return line will probably be fine like that. But i fucking hate it lol. So im just gonna get a length of Fuel hose a re-do it so i doesn't have a join. It's all the little things

Sorry to hijack..just tried putting an itr cluster into my dc2 tonight, fuel gauge didn't work either. Mind explaining why? I just ended up swapping the carbon surround onto my factory cluster but would much rather the black itr cluster.

Oh and Necsis, I freaking love this car! looks better everytime i open this thread. So jealous of the p1's
