Running water in the system only only make it worse man, flush that shit!
UNTAMED MOTORSPORT
Agree water ain't going to help it
Ok, so i managed to dig some pics out that weren't corrupt.
Lucas (Slamwhich) aligning the engine.
Engine in and all mounts mounted. Me putting hubs back together.
Nana (previous owner mowing down poles at the super market. Went to 3 wreckers in Hamilton to find a new one to no availGot this one bent back into shape pretty well though.
Battery relocated to the boot
Matt (DCV1N) sorted me some custom seat brackets to bolt to my factory rails for the Racepro. Gave em a quick coat of black to stop them rusting:
Ready to be installed:
Installed:
Engine all running etc. As you can see the Vtec pressure sensor is taped on... Have another one coming.
Civic is running very well, i cleaned the IACV on Saturday, still hasn't made a difference to hunting idle problem so will look into that again.
I have an Intake pipe and K&N filter to install.
More pics to come this weekend.
looking good man
I think I have a couple spare IACVs if you want to try one of them
theres a vac fitting on top of the TB that's open, Block that off and see how it goesOtherwise looking good man
Daily Driven.
pull the FITV out and take unscrew the side, there is a plastic valve inside which worked itself loose on my old crx, you can tighten it back up and should fix the hunting
Is it all blocked off?
Cars looking great mate![]()
Happy with the K&N?

Just got a the car a new WOF as it expired a few weeks ago, failed on a reverse bulb. Fixed!
The weekend just been was my last chance to get everything done as i have a track day at Taupo on Saturday.
Managed to sort the idle issue. Found that it was the IACV, hunted around for another one to no avail, took mine out again and gave a savage clean with brake clean and compressed air. Took me around 15 minutes, then i reinstalled it.
It now idles properly! Was getting so angry about this.
Made up a fire extinguisher bracket that bolts onto the front seat rail bolt locations. Was a really quick job, i then found that it sits on the piss due to one hole sitting higher than the other.....Stupid EF's. Owell it works.
Made a block off plate for the FITV on my Gen2 throttle body out of some 4mm alloy plate. Made a new gasket out of gasket paper, smashed on abit of master gasket, gasket goo and bolted it on. Gave the butterfly a clean up aswell.
Removed my gen1 T/B from my intake and fitted the Gen2 T/B. I now have a Full Gen2 intake system
Completely drained the radiator/engine of water and filled it with coolant. Bled the system, all working fine.
I had bought a Scarles (yes i know, i am a dumb ass) intake pipe that came in a sealed box saying for EF8 CRX/EF9 Civic. Bullshit.
I couldn't get the damn thing to fit, it was about 4 inches to long and wasn't shaped properly so it was going to hit the dizzy. Then found the silicone joiner it came with was too small, must have been for a D ninga intake, RAGE!
So i flipped the intake the other way and cut it shorter. Got my hands on the correct size silicone joiner. Yellow FTW! (Cheers Matt/DCV1N)
My Dad used to race an MGB, he sold it last year but he kept the R.J.S 5 point harness, So we decided to chuck it in the Civic.
Mucked around for awhile adjusting it. Drove home with it on and found it comfortable
It was manufactured in 2005, he seems to think they are valid for 10 years if they have no rips/fraying. Can anyone correct me on this?
The civic is now finished! Won't be doing many more mods for awhile as i need the money for upcoming track days/summer. Most of my paychecks ended up going towards it in the last 6 weeks.....
It just needs a full exterior clean and it will be 100% percent ready.
Coming along nicely
1995 Honda Civic MX (B20 VTEC)
1999 Subaru Impreza STi 6 Type R
Thanks mate.
Took the Civic out to clean it the other day.
Took it around the block to make sure everything was behaving itself, went a parked up in a parking lot to take some pics.
I was organizing my camera when i heard a hissing noise, sure enough coolant was dripping onto the exhaust. Found that it was the thermostat bypass hose, it had a nice split on the bottom.
Thanks to Craig (Zombine) for the hose to replace it with!
Pics:
Car is going the best it has even gone. Can't wait for the track day on Saturday.
Also got a replacement Vtec pressure sensor. Fitted. I just had the old one taped together.
Will be putting the new hose on tonight and rebleeding the coolant, getting tools etc ready and i will be good to go!
looking man. makes me just want to go and drive mine but im still waiting on parts hahah. good luck for saturday man

If you need a bumper reinforcer still, they do taiwanese aftermarket ones pretty cheap.
