Money talks - I once spoke to the guy in Auckland with the Yellow one with Yellow Recaros and he said he didn't plan on selling any time soon 'but everythings for sale for the right price'.

Okay so after a bit more moving around the countryside I've settled in to Timaru, and have bought the Yellow fever with me. Got a bit sick of the current headunit so picked up a new Alpine Bluetooth unit from Ben & the team at Audiocraft in Whakatane - www.audiocraft.co.nz

Slightly unrelated to the actual build but I've also picked up a very cool OEM oil filter removal tool from Tegiwa Imports in the UK:

So making slow progress overall, more focussing on replacing interior parts that have seen better days. Looking to completely refurbish my drivers seat using new OEM Recaro material/foam from the team at Capital Seating in the UK - www.capitalseating.co.uk

Does that tool work well? Want one if it does.

Also if you want to share shipping from Capital possibly I could be interested. Was a group buy a while ago but it didn't go anywhere

Those tools make it so much easier to get the filter off compared to those clamp style ones.

Haven't used it yet! I would assume it does, as it's made to fit the HAMP filters.

I'm still weighing up my options about the seat, also looking at using a second hand seat for the bits I need.

So haven't been doing a lot of big stuff lately, just a few wee things:

Got rid of the silly yellow calipers, sorry if any of you previous owners did this but let's be honest it's pretty ugly!
    Before:

    After:

And mounted my power bar and socket in the boot, rather than rattling around under the front seat:

I think they got replaced by Spoons, so forgive him! And look what I found having pizza this week. I won't give the plate out, but it's a non yellow recaro one.

Mmm I had always wondered if they came with orange guard indicators, mine has had clear ones fitted.

Anyways, some stuff showed up today, so I put it on the floor and took a photo:

Then thought it would be a good idea to open the big box:

So I smiled, then fitted it:

    And all was good.

    Re: Ben builds another ITR

So the shiny stuff arrived last week, I think I sent a photo of them out of their box to Andrew but have lost it now.

Anyways, I also decided that the Carbing bar would look cooler on the black ITR, so have taken it off and will fit it when I get back up north sometime during the year. So the Mugen bar has a had a cleanup and is back on the yellow ITR. Have also fitted the CTR throttle cable. Now those saying that a CTR throttle cable will fit straight up, well sort of yes. All the fittings are fine (pedal fitting, cable bracket fitting) however the inner cable itself is around 70mm too short. I'm 98% sure this is due to the bracket placement being different between B16B and B18CR intake manifolds. I had my cable inner lengthened and now it's all fitted up:

Now some of you may know that Mr Maddever has a wee Lotus teddy bear that he occasionally straps into his gorgeous Exige and takes for a spin. Don't know how often this happens now as I suspect his lovely partner Toni gets to ride shotgun now. Anyway I though well if it's good enough for George to have a wee mascot then hell why can't I have one too! So I bought this little guy off Mac:

    Re: Ben builds another ITR

Did you use a ctr throttle cable bracket to mount it to the manifold? You need to change to one to make it bolt up.
Don't listen to what I say, I make shit up as I go.
