Hello! These are all the cars I currently own:

    1989 Honda Civic SiR
    1993 Honda Civic SiR-S
    1997 Honda Integra TypeR
1991 Honda Civic Vti - daily

After a host of unplanned events and conversation I have managed to pick up the SiR-S for a tiny amount. Body is a bit rough, the engine and gearbox are a bit rough but there is no crash repair evidence which is ideal. I have always wanted to build a Honda race car but the initial outlay is always been a determining factor. Since the agreed price was too good to be true a dream of mine will now be realised.

Took it in for a WOF inspection:

Please feel free to donate parts to get this vehicle road worthy.

So I've put registration on hold for 6 months and am planning on making it road worthy before we move on to the next stage on making it a race car.

Once it is road worthy almost everything attached to the vehicle will be removed and up for sale.

    Race car plans include:

    - Roll cage suitable for circuit, hill climbs and street sprints
    - Koni sport shocks and Neuspeed springs
    - Lever type proportioning valve
    - 282mm Brakes
    - Stock engine and gearbox
    - Oiler cooler
    - Lots of weight loss to the car and weight distribution
    - Some kind of baffled sump for the b16a.

RE: Weight loss and distribution. Will be lightening the front end as much as possible and keeping the back end as heavy as possible.

Budget is about 5k. We'll see how it goes. The only thing i'll have to pay for is the roll cage and prop valve and install. It may well get extended the more I research.

Further more, at the same time as this I will be pulling the EF9 apart and selling it stock-ish. Selling the block and gearbox and using the cylinder head and s300 on this car.

The only challenging thing about this build is I have no garage at this stage and the weather varies quite a bit. Do have access to works garage and a friends workshop but that would only be useful for small after work jobs.

On with it you say? Ok.

The Civic has some 15x7 wheels with very good rubber. So am robbing them for storage and put these on.

Factory Momo wheel and 231,000km on the clock.

Full factory black interior with centre arm rest console.

Only thing modded here is the Simota intake arm and POD filter. Will be looking at a factory intake arm and airbox.

Thats it for now. Thanks for dropping by. Progress will be slow for a while.

Here are some things that I will be putting in the car that have been laying around for years.

    Racetech 100w seats

    Mugen Front Lip

Spoon Air Filter - which I won on trademe $1 Reserve

    Gutted Carbon Bonnet

Good stuff, it'll be a shame to strip down a SiR-S with all the wicked bits. But nones the less, will stilll be a sweet car.

You may have forgotten to hide the plate in the first pic of the eg6. Anyway, good luck with the build.

    nice starting point

however, on your wof sheet where it states no inside rear veiw mirror, that shouldnt be a fail as you have 2 functioning externel rear veiw mirrors....

TBH, its been a love/hate affair with the EF9 from day one. Am wanting to let it go and basically start again. There is nothing wrong with it, but you can literally pull the interior out and throw a cage in and be racing.

    anyone?

    Re: Honda Cup Civic Build

Fair enough - just thought the EF would have been a bit lighter to start with, and after all you have to love/hate your car anyhow to rape it around the race track.

eg>ef. Start something new, Experience the fun and ease of being able to throw parts from so many different cars at the eg chassis with minimal mods.
