blues yellow eg5 is no longer....

well i brought a rolling body of my flat mate,it was a sleeper civic running a type r, which after about a month decided that the big end would go, so my flat mate is forging it for his integra, the body wasnt in the best condition, and the interior wasnt too flash, so i decided that i would look at repainting it, i had 4 liters of gunmetal at work and that got stolen, so i decided to look for a color. after lots of googling i decided on the most recent version of new indy yellow (y65p) then i saw the price, so i am using triumph lightning yellow effect which is around 100 per liter at cost price.
joys of working in a pannel shop
so after deciding on the colour i thought i would strip the engine bay and paint that.

after a few hours of figuring where eveything went i decided to start on the exterior pannel work, found only one major job on the rear left quater which i have sanded back and pulled out and bogged up just working on the last swage atm.

at the same time as doing the exterior i am retrimming the interior in a black and cream swade and re-carpeting the hole car, i have also been up grading my stock b18c with stock b18cr 98 spec bits like pistons valves cams conrods etc

just in the process of reassembly now, head is on just got to tighten everything up, repaint the rocker cover, and i can start to tidy my loom up.
and then ill start to put it all back in to the engine bay.

electrical, the joys of my civic previously running a type r is most of the stuff is bolt on and clip in but the loom in side the car is a mess so im also workin on that

    current list of mods
engine: b18c with type r internals and stainless extractors 2 1/2 inch exaust, 2 cobys and an rps silencer, dc2 non type r radiator air con removed.

interior: factory apart from momo stering wheel and short shift kit retrimed dash ans door cards

electrical: launch control single stage, type r ecu

exterior: mugen copy front lip from ssp

suspension/wheels: tiens with frount and rear strut braces and a rear tie bar. 17/7 inch rims with toyo t1rs. pics will be up loaded

8/2/2012 civic is now in possesion of kiwi car crushers to be crushed, new plans for a fresh eg hatch will begin

24 august. ok the exterior has had some more pannel work done and i have the two doors and drivers rear quater and a few little touch up before priming. been working on the mess of electronics aswell and tidyed most of it up.
been looking on 41 automotive and finaly found a blox intake to replace the stock snail intake and looking at the 76mm throtle body. i need some advice on the difference between forged n/a and forged turbo as i like both but i am undecsive on which way to go.

    Re: b18c eg civic

ok new update, iv managed to find a way to fix the crank. two threads are going to be helicoiled and the rest will be re taped at the start of the thread. iv orderd some arp bolts at a costly 160 for a set or 8.
panel work: i have finished reparing the rear left quater and primed it but i had some issues with poor prep work and the primer hasent stuck in some places so im going so sand that down and re prime it, tailgate has recieved a severe smearing of bog in two places to get the shape right as it is too awkard to metal finish
i picked up an evo4 turbo with a bit of play but nothing major, now i need bov, piping and intercooler and a retune.
any sugestions on how and where to set up the oil lines?

    Re: b18c eg civic

ok todays news. lastnight i spent 2.5 hours tidying up the whole loom and i put that in today, looks good because u cant see much wiring but its still functional so im happy with that, intake and exhaust manifold on and then i hooked up the shift linkage then found out that the shift link was 25 mill wider than the shift leaver, so i spaced it up with washers and nuts.
    photos will be uploaded soon
