not sure if it's just the photo angle but it looks as though the compressor air outlet would foul if the turbo was clocked...
also looking at the oil feed and return lines were doing my head in but then i remembered this was designed for an ej20 and not an sr20
on a subie the turbo sits the other way round

Yeah thats all you need to do. I had the same done to the VF10 to get the oil inlet/outlet in the right position. Simple job for your mate at turbocare. That new turbo should bump up the horsepower.

Re: Charlies EF7 Turbo ZC DOHC

I managed to separate the exhaust side of the turbo, however this doesn't help, as the issue I have is that everything except for the oil lines / water lines are in the correct place, spinning the compressor housing moves the connection to the inter cooler, so that's no good to me at all, I need to move the centre of the turbo around and keep the stock position of the compressor housing and exhaust housing.

    Thanks.

Yeah the Turbo's back on kind of.. I just need to get another 51mm Hose to go from the Turbo to Intercooler.. The current ones about 2cm too short.. Just haven't got around to it as yet, the constant Earthquakes don't help my motivation.
I need to attempt an Air Filter install too, I think I will try one of those HKS Style Filters and see if I can make it fit somewhere (Too much dust around here due to earthquakes to make do with the mesh).

I hope to have it up and running later this week, although the roads are still too rough around here to make much use of the car.

Also this old beast is getting most of the attention now:

One of those mushroom style filters with the big foam element?. Watch those if they get over oiled the inside of the foam element will deteriorate at a rapid rate and youe engine will suck all the shit in

Its been a while since I updated this, but I did finally finish installing the TD04HL turbo a couple of weeks back.

For the 1st time in 5 years the car now has an Air Filter instead of a piece of wire mesh covering the Turbo inlet, however its a fairly small air filter due to lack of space, but its a bit of piece of mind, especially when driving on a dusty road.

The CRX is now sold, as is my VW Golf VR6.

All I have now is my E39 BMW, as I need the cash towards a house deposit and am not allowed to buy any more cars for now.

I will do a worklog of the E39 for anyone interested, however it will mostly be maintenance and cosmetics.

1st up will be using a 3M headlight lense cleaning kit for my dull and faded looking headlights.
You may also notice the front bumper isn't lined up correctly, the front lip has seen better days.

In the weeks to come these things will be addressed.

The new owner of the CRX had damn well better look after it!

Now that there's no Hondas in this build thread, I'm unsubscribing.

    Okay fine, I'll keep watching.

Right, time to try out 3M's Headlight Restoration kit, as you can see in the next 2 pics, headlights are rather misty looking.

Was it worth it? Well.. the result wasn't as good as I'd hoped for, but the headlights should be good enough now to pass the WOF, which was really the key thing I guess.

Just a 528i, 5speed automatic, goes well enough as a daily driver, 245km top speed still on this model, not that I could ever do that in NZ.

I get good results with 2000 grit sandpaper and some high cut polish applied by hand. Maybe too much sanding, not enough polishing? Or too abrasive sanding and too fine of a polish?

Your results don't look too bad, the flash on your camera pics up the scratches/imperfections in the headlight lens. I reckon you could get it better though!

Use some PlasticX or metal polish (the name escapes me right now) and they will come up 100x better
