Put the C30 in the front! FWD styz!
Keep the C30 and spend your money on Fuel + Tyres + track day entries. Your car will be more than competitive with some decent driving and IMO that's a lot better angle to work than building a 2000hp VQ30DETTRB26whatever![]()
Just to get the thread back on track.......... pardon the pun............. everyone does realise I wasn't serious about changing the engine right ?? I love the C30......... unfortunately a combination of no money and an upcoming wedding has forced me to put things on hold till after mid April so nothing is really going to happen till after then I'm afraid.......

Yes, very confident everyone was being tongue in cheek. Do you really think the NZHondas community is going to try and talk the owner of one of the mintest privately owned/built NSXs the world has seen into replacing the original motor with a 12A Rotary, a Skyline engine or a Chev V8?![]()
Was hard to tell based on last comment, just wanted to be clear for those who weren't following the thread that they didn't get the wrong idea.

dam Lith, I was deadly serius about the VQ38DETT idea... have welder & lathe. Could knock that conversion over this weekend! Boom-shanka!
Every home should have one!
There's still the R33 if you want to do that conversion![]()
Can you 2 Nissan fanboys go and rub each other up somewhere else please !! LOL
Fraser
Closer to topic then... are you and/or NSX going to be present at the Dyno Day next weekend?
No sorry. The car is at Speedtech, but as mentioned I don't have the money to get it finished before the wedding and so I am going to take it away and fix some other bodywork stuff that Zac and I want to get finished and finish up some other non bodywork stuff and then return the car to Speedtech after I get back from honeymoon. Then it's a straight run to the finish line as it were for them.
Otherwise it'll just sit at Speedtech, they will have to finish their stuff and then it will need more work before being ready.......... way we see it is that we may as well work on it now whilst it's just sitting there........
It's a shame it won't be there for the dyno day as its an ideal time but I guess there will be other days soon enough when the car is ready and we can actually do more than have it sit there.

Just had a browse through the NZPC spread. Car looks excellent and the article was pretty good too. Okay, so there was a couple of minor things not installed in time for the shoot... but it still looks awesome. Congrats man! As always, faithfully subscribed and eagerly await further awesomeness.![]()
efsi: What's wrong with a 4AGE? They're good engines
spooner: They have a flat spot from 0 to 8000rpm.
Thanks SiRedge, the next big step is the track so I'm super keen to get that done, but as mentioned, money and a wedding are a couple of fairly big stepping stones I need to deal with before I can make room for the race carbut I'm really looking forward to getting the car at the track for a full shakedown and then after that the first proper event I will make sure I invite everyone along and of course I'm not going to get chance to give everyone a lap, but I will do what I can...... I'm sure the first few events will be like that till everyones had a run

I'd quite happily use that as an excuse to come up from Christchurch. I've only even sat in an NSX and made brum brum noises, LOL - couldn't quite swing a drive out of my contact at Honda. Driven everything else, but something's missing...
Sure know how you feel about the financial situation, as I'm sure everyone here does - most can only be envious of what you've been able to do here. We live vicariously.![]()

Could you ask the Speedtech guys to move it into the showroom for the weekend?![]()
Sorry Joule, it's planned to leave Speedtech this week coming otherwise I'm sure they would have let people into the workshop to have a look.............
I know it's annoying, but at least when it is finished and ready to show at the next NZH event or dyno day it will be running better and looking better.....![]()

Wait...Speedtech have a showroom now? Flash bastards.![]()
Thanks to: Makita, Repco, The Warehouse.
Had a showroom for years, but Redline Performance have been sharing it, but Redline are no longer in Welly and CHCH from what I understand so their showroom is going to be theirs again.

Sadly I've only made it out there once since they moved out from Alicetown, and I think they'd only moved in a couple of months beforehand. Maybe I should revisit them to see how things have progressed.![]()

Everything in moderation, except Spamcrew
I'm not down again until next month sadly, it would have been nice to catch up with some old Wellington faces and meet some new ones. It heartens me to see things down there have picked up markedly in the past couple of years.

Slightly off topic but that's it............ GTR is sold
Really nice guy from Tauranga so it will no doubt be making some appearances around that area from now on...... Kept my plates though so it's just got basic plates on it now, but it will still stand out I think.

Congrats and condolences at the same time.![]()
