i did it the dodgy way back in the day too with the head on, welded air line fitting onto a slightly modded spark plug to pressurise the cylinder and screwdriver to press the springs down and remove the things to get the spring off.

Cheers Scott! Not much you can do with the EB's, just get the shock shortened to keep the springs captive. Should post up some pictures of the Eb

    As for my builds,

The panel shop was open yesterday, so managed to get a good days worth of work in.

    Removed the 2nd turboII sticker.

As it sat end of the day, pretty much all the sanding is done. Waiting on panel beater to carry out repairs now.

Also made some progress on the cr-x build. As per normal dealing with older spec stuff has caused headaches

Purchased a oil sandwich plate to run the turbo feed and oil pressure gauge off, these are a 'generic' fit all type of thing. Sadly oldschool Honda's have a massive oil filter fitting so the generic fittings won't work.

So got the old man to machine out and re-tap the fitting(Bronze coloured piece) to suit the older style thread(Black). The oil pressure gauge sensor bolted straight in, but need to purchase another fitting for the return line.

Got all the valve seals done, had an incorrect seal supplied by honda, which meant I had to wait till wednesday to finish the job.

Just waiting on a copy of the jdm browntop zc valve clearances so I can finish fitting the cams.

Turbo as it sits now, bought two rolls of thermal heat wrap for the exhaust, even though its been coated I plan to wrap the downpipe as it sits very close to the sump.

Re: Matt's Old School Honda Thread - small update - 12/1/12

Spot puttied the city bumpers earlier in the week

Filler primered to help get the rest of the stone chip / imperfections out
Getting the panel work done today, and finished up over the weekend. So fingers crossed the car will have paint on next week

As for the CR-X. Been focusing on the odds and ends that need doing, replaced all the cap screws on the manifold and piping etc.

Also put the manifold / turbo / piping back together, in order to dummy it up for the oil return line

a tight fit is an understatement

Have acquired some earls braided house to use from workshop left overs. Went out and purchased the steel fittings to weld onto the sump today (from pirtek)

Also dummied up the piping to check it would still work with the EG5 manifold

Matt's Old School Honda Thread - Sttttillll in the panel shop + crx update - 24/1/12

Little more progress on the city, things have been slow though due to christmas back log in the panel shop. Just got the repairs finished yesterday, need to sand the primered areas, then its ready for the booth.

Crack in the door all welded up,

The bullshit, rust causing factory honda sealer was removed from the door frames. luckily got to it before just was bad, could grind all of it out

Due to the panel delays, city isn't back on the road yet - meaning I can't get started on the turbo conversion in the cr-x. Bit gutted it won't be all done for the show, but would rather spend a bit longer doing everything right, than rushing the conversion in a weekend because I need the cr-x again for daily duties the next week.

Finally got the roof in, and some new wheels
